I have the feeling that 1C is trying to capitalise on the upcomming movie 'Battle of Britain' being produced in Hollywood. Does anyone of you share this feeling?

No, not at all - I think Cruise and his fellow Idiots portrayel of this fundamentally important battle will be the same down-the-toilet material that pretty much all of the others are, it may even be worse than Perl Harbour and U-571, which would be quite something.

I would like to be proved wrong by them producing a factual, balanced and entertaining film but I'll bet a years wages that it's just crap with some rather nice aeroplanes and some female eye candy.

I think so too. This is consistant with Hollywood. After seeing them came up with all these re-mades of old black-white movies from the past, I think the biggest movie producing city in the world is unable to come up with good new ideas.

That would certainly be a wise business decision if, you're right. I would welcome any means to popularize this hobby, and WWII aviation in general.

Why do they have to be idiots? They're actors for crying out loud....Period. It kills me the amount of negativity that is so pervasive here... It seems like folks will just take any opportunity to pan anything that comes along... We all know that if you want historical accuracy...for the most part (try 98% and I think I am being kind..) Hollywood is not the place...... why be pi$$ed or surprised when a hot money making topic comes up for production. I cant help but wonder if this were being made anywhere else if it would illicit the sane response from some of you.... It's a frickin MOVIE!! ENTERTAINMNT!!! When HBO did The Tuskegee Airmen there were so many holes in that film from a historical standpoint that it isnt funny. It left out a trainload of info...but it was GOOD to see those planes flying around..it was good to see it on film even if what they showed was 80% fiction. Hollywood wont even touch it...at least not yet..but who knows maybe after BoB they will. I am glad to see any film about WW2 pilots..or WW2 period. It was probably one of THE defining moments in our world and even if we manage to survive into the next century without killing ourselves or rendering our environment inhabitable..it will still go down as a MAJOR pivot point in history...be glad it's being done. We all know who it was that fought in the BoB for the most part...... it was the British..and they kicked a$$ so......lighten up.

What's wrong with U-571?? It may not have been very historical but I thought it was a very entertaining movie. As far as war movies made in the last 15 years or so go anyway.

I think Tom Cruise himself is motivated by IL-2/FB.

It's not as if Tom Cruise is new to air films.

I enjoyed Top-Gun - I have no idea how acurate it is - but - I still enjoy the film.

Give the guy a chance.
