Hi Guys!!!

I need to prevent any "bad" speeches about how is and what is BoB:

1. The pics from Bonus video tell you about our work several months ago. And there is in BoB video intro SPECIAL NOTICE that all videos, screens, etc are based on Pre-Alpha version!
2. The map there is a test map that we'll probably will use as one of special fast loading online maps.
3. The big cities there are not present on this map, just small. And trust me position and location of buildings will be right. Curently on this map as it is test map it is done using just one place from sattelite map and distributed all around the map with the various of sizes. There is completely new technology for the map textures which some of you will use in future to make own maps...
4. Chirches are not present at the moment but we will have them.
5. Cliffs - it is a sample of technology. The altitudes of the cliffs are not limited and are taken from sattelite map. on the working currnely real map of England there are huge cliffs with altitudes over 100 meters (I saw the point of 147 meters height on the map that making my guys.
And they are not vertical (not really 90 degrees. Just some time close to 90). Real has some angle - inclined surface. It is done like it is on real satellite maps
6. Textures are not final for everything there.
7. Great various of trees and forests will be present only in final beta.
8. There are not present yet selfshading and most importnat cross shades. It will be in beta only

Conclusion.
I recommend to look for the first screens of Il-2 (that all liked very much ) and then try to compare with release screens (that was done so much better) Here is the same thing.

The pre-alpha is just to show how is going development in our "house"
Trust me what you watch now in this BONUS video is sooooooo better than you saw anywhere in any flight sim before or currently
And trust me we put so much in 3D engine that it will be in use step by step in time and in new versions-upgrades for a very long life. Probably longer than in Il-2 engine that still looks modern and more realistic from most points of view than from current competitors.

When you'll this bonus DVD just look for the other details there... ground modeling, cockpits (there are present video of 11 already ready cockpits of flyable aircraft in so great detail and precise that you probably even didn't see in the best third party add-ons for MS FS...!)

Ok, for the first look I think you got enough Enjoy please Il-2 1946 DVD now

Interesting The dimension of textures and maps will play a huge importance in the Online performance.
Like FSX witch recreate the whole planet.

Alas BOB will be limited once again to certain area on a map , so the technology is not that good, But probably a way for peoples to be able to fly globaly with no much problem.

I want to see how BOB will look like when reaching the border of the map.. I want to see how the plane will react with the new physics and weathers, I want to see how the engine management will be and i hope it will not be like IL2.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

a recent question answered, regarding map size

"Don't know yet finally. We make huge map in terms of comparison to Il-2 with the great detail. However we will see how it works with all the components of the sim at beta and probably will cut the size, amount of objects, etc...
As I always telling? the game must be playable form the beginning of the release, but not when its already close to death on the market"<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I agree. It has to be pointed out - even SHOUTED; This is not what a village looks like. I know were in the early stages... I know Oleg said Churches will come later... but this must be stressed, otherwise it will be overlooked.

The team don't know what an English village is like, and if we don't tell them it's horribly wrong we risk it ending up like this.

I know it's pre alpha (or alpha), but the arrangement of the villages/towns is surely something that should be right from the start! The placements have to be set right.

No English towns or villages look like that from the air. I'm from England and now living in Sweden, those screenshot villages look just like the ones here in Sweden with widely placed houses.

Also, as archie said, the front door should be facing the street, and in lots of cases the front door will be on the street.

BTW. By stating what's wrong for the developers, who probably wouldn't notice what's wrong (not being from here) I'm trying to be helpful.

You don't actually need that many buildings, just pack them tighter.arranged along the streets, with one main street.

I know what you mean and in some respects you're right; But the team appears to be quite close to Ian Boys who really DOES know what an English village looks like (living in one), so I shouldn't worry too much. Oleg said this about the buildings, and house's

(question)
Yeah, the terrain differences might be trivial, but they are trivial to do RIGHT as well. All it takes is the map maker caring and having some attention to detail

(Oleg's reply)
1. We use the same sources as google.
2. Speaking about IL-2 series using tecnology with optimization for high enough FPS and minimzation of polygons using for the surface modelling we never even pretended for the full real maps. We even told instead, that we do not pretend and making maps with current technology only that to get it looking close with its technology limits. However I don't think you are able to see in any other sim and even in most other games the technology that we use in Il-2 that allow to get so good looking NO PIXELATED surface of the ground and where there are no GREATLY VISIBLE borders between the textures. That technologies listed above still many try just to copy from IL-2. However in BoB it is greatly improved...
3. I understand that you understand almost nothing in computer technology(regarding how to get all features working well in one great code and how to get it fully optimized for all aspects of the game and where developers must go for compromisses), because you are speaking bla-bla-bla about things that you don't know. Sorry I don't like to offend you. But it looks like it looks.
4. We will not make exact copy of the England of France, like it looks now from modern sattelite maps. We will make it looking close to 1940 year using the real maps of that time. However is till doesn't means that we will get every street and every house the same like in real life. To make this will take probably some ten years or so if to specialize only for this work and do nother other - the result of it will be 0,01 FPS. So please think twice before to post something and make some incorrect comparison with other...

Finally: If you like google for the reference

1. I can't find there my house and simply the area where I'm leaving is totally wrong there... Just looks like.
2. In Engliand about 30% buildings stay the same way (short side to the road) as it is on the test map presented in prealpha version.
Check yourself before to post.

And so will villages remain. SoW future users who will wait for a good visibility Fw 190... just tremble.

For Oleg is just like Shakespeare's Caesar:

"I could be well moved, if I were as you:
If I could pray to move, prayers would move me:
But I am constant as the northern star,
Of whose true-fix'd and resting quality
There is no fellow in the firmament.
The skies are painted with unnumber'd sparks,
They are all fire and every one doth shine,
But there's but one in all doth hold his place:
So in the world; 'tis furnish'd well with men,
And men are flesh and blood, and apprehensive;
Yet in the number I do know but one
That unassailable holds on his rank,
Unshaked of motion: and that I am he..."
