Any suggestions on a particular plane to fly in online battles? I am half thinking of trying an online game but haven't the faintset idea on a plane. My flying skills aren't the greatest and my call sign should be 'leadmagnet'.
( icrash was good cause that's what i usually do on groundattack stuff) I need something that will take a beating and can have a decent shot at a deadstick landing.

thanks (and I do realize everyone has their favorite)

Not my favourite but the La-7 is a good nOOb on-line a/c, easy to fly and it has a good rear view mirror for those full real servers. Just don't dive too fast! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Go offline first, try them all and find one you are half comfortable with. Then play with that one plane, learning all of it's dis/adadvantages. Practice, practice and more practice. And when you think you've got it sussed, go online in a server that meets your needs, die a thousand deaths but learn from each one.
IMO all planes have good points, all planes have bad points - ignore personal scores and have a blast.

Cheers! From a poor online player but one who thinks it is a hoot!

Ladies & gentlemen, this is the captain speaking. Thankyou for choosing to fly Mandarin Airlines. Those passengers sitting on the left-hand side of the aeroplane please make yourselves comfortable. Those sitting on the right... please look to your left!

my regular comp is dead, so i have no idea what the current flight model condition is for IL-2. (patch wise and so forth)

genreally, the YAK3 was a very friendly aircraft to new users.. and i think the p-39 airacobra was the uber plane too l(as of last patch.)

remember, NO plane will make you an "instant ace"

also, you wont learn unless your forced to learn. i have found that some players did much better being forced to learn a plane they didnt want, than players who stuck with "the easy plane".

of course, im "maybe" an average player, so hopefully some others here wil give you better insight, and specifics.
