Want to know how to cut your radio contacts down to realistic levels? well "Rocketdog" provided this link in my previous Thread named "Wishing for more realism". Here's the link to how its done. You will probably want to read the thread, it discusses adjusting contacts in good detail.

http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=32405&sid=29b6377b32bb400f0b2f2d14e38526f8

And here is a copy of what Subsim member "Sheppard" said in his post.

quote:
Go into your Contacts.cfg file and make the following settings like
this:

Display Range To Opportunity Radio Contacts=20 ;[>0] kilometers
Display Range To Important Radio Contacts=6000 ;[>0] kilometers

This means you will now only pick up opportunity contacts within
10.79 nautical miles of your submarine, while BdU will keep you
appraised of convoys they have picked up within 6,000 kilometers,
making for a more realistic world as I have found, because you then
get the feeling that BDU hasn't forgotten about you, or your
radio officer isn't hiding those dang convoy reports anymore...

Hope I documented my sources correctly, I think I've been in college too long. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

From what I read, Opportunity Radio Contacts controls both single and convoys.

Important Radio Contacts seems to control warship groups.
