http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif Howdy all.I'm brand new to FB and these forums but as a refugee from MS CFS games and forums,I see that some things never change. The whiners will always be with us and I'm glad to see the moderators here are aggressive and proactive.
A quick question from a complete newb...
I have just gotten the complete Il2 FB cd and Ace Expansion Pack.Fantastic stuff. Is there a Battle of Britian scenario available or Air War in Western Europe ? One that is as extensive as the Eastern Front scenario ? I'm eagerly looking forward to Pacific Fighters.Great sim,my hats off to the developers. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Welcome

If you hunt around in hear you will find various references to BoB (Battle of Britain) which is currently under development. However Various campaigns and expansions are available using the current 'extensive' plane set in Il2 that simulate the War in Europe. Sorry I dont have links but I am sure you will get them soon enough.

Enjoy your Stay and Keep your six clear S!

Everything changes. SOmetimes the changes we ignore for they please us. Other times they are so subtle they slip right by. But everthng changes.

Not that it matters but I just had a treet sandwich. (Treet is like the cheaper knockoff brand of Spam), and I burped and this came out.

Yes it matters JimR. I find it a very valuable and true insight you offer there. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/351.gif

BoE is a western campaign for AEP. I am leaving you some links and posts which will help explain.

Campaigns for Normandy and Ardennes won't likely appear in "mainline" releases before BoB.

This interview explains how these maps and Western Front objects were created and why campaigns are supported only in a separate product, called Battle over Europe.

News on that is that we will have 5 new careers.

P-38 fighter bomber, Stuka D5 night bomber, BF-110 interceptor, Me-163 rocket interceptor and RAF fighter or fighter/bomber career.

It is done except of German and French localisation of RAF career (and new Spitfires for this career)

After release of Oleg's patch (or rather after time when I have final version of it), I need a couple of days to add the planes. Plus I need German and French texts, I hope they will be ready even before that. The rest depends on JF - but it all should be done pretty quickly. Early to mid April?

Can confirm now that there will be several models of Spitfire IX used in BoE RAF campaign as well as several models of AI B-25. The Spitfires will be used in all roles, including ground attack because they can carry bombs.

Go to the Sturmovik Essentials (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=23110283&m=51910959) thread stickied to the top of this forum and go to the Netwings link... There are some nice user made campaigns there. You might want to explore each of those links if you are new hear.. I can pretty much gaurantee there will be something there you will appreciate. Welcome aboard!! Have fun.

BTW.... IMO BoE is worth the $SS. Hopefully the patch and UberD's new version of the UQMG will be here soon. The UQMG is a user made tool that basically will give you FMB power with QMB ease.. (Thats Full & Quick Mission Builders..). It is a great program and he did it on his own for the community.
