We need basic info....how to start engine, how to taxi....ect....
I got the engine started, but can't seem to move.
We have the Ultimate Flight Collection, Pacific Fighters, Lock On and Il 2.
We are trying to use Pacific Fighters...though aren't they all the same?

So far I can't find basic "how to's" like this. The training isn't much help. It tells you then dumps you. You can't look up specifics.

Any ideas for a complete beginner?

Thanks!

Tap the wheel brake button wich is the [b] button on your key pad.
Be ready for it, and you will need to use your rudder or you will spin off in a left hand hook http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Hope this helps.

Okay....I'll try it again...I throttle all the way up and then tap b? So far b doesn't seem to do anything! Maybe something isn't working right?
I'll give it another go.

Nope, b does nothing....there I sit.
Very frustrating that I can't find any help anywhere on the ubi site either!

Are you on a carrier deck? If so, you will need to map a key to the "Chocks" function. Then start engine, throttle up, drop flaps to "takeoff" and hit the chocks button. Off you go.

Welcome! On an aircraft carrier you need to map a key to remove the chocks (blocks, they stop the aircraft rolling). go to controls on the main page of the game anf look for 'chocks' or ' remove chocks' or 'toggle chocks'.

You have a manual in the main game folder (reach it from outside of te game), it will be under 'programs' then under 'ubi soft'.

Look at the sticky threads (marked red) at the top of the first forum page, they have lots of important information for newcomers.
Look at the Pacific Fighters page too for more info:

and the Community help forum , for problem solving:

Ah!
Thank you all!
I will go try these suggestions before I decide to eat a pound of chocolate...that was sounding better!
Thank you so much.
I'll report back on the watery crash once I get to move!

You will finfd it very hard to take off from an aircraft carrier with a heavy load of bombs, especially if the carrier is stationary (no extra wind under the wings)!

Welcome to the partly friendly skies, we6hoopers. Major Setback makes an excellent suggestion about finding info... especially the airwarfare site. Pretty much everything you need to know can be found there.

If you find you like the game, you should really try online multiplay. That's where the IL2 series really shines.
