just coming back to il2 after a long while having purchased 1946 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I was looking to upgrade the game a bit with high res textures

1. Where would I find the default planes textures but in high res.

2. Are there any high res terrain textures out there????

3. Are there any highres cockpit textures??

4. Are there any maps out there with many additional objects placed on them??

Many thanks for any pointers

have you selected perfect mode under open gl?

this will give you much improved graphics over what you are used to, if you are coming back after a long time.

also things like effects=2,clouds=1,water=4 etc... in your config.ini will make things look better as well

Also you can change the re****ion higher than what setup allows you to, by editing the config.ini to

hope this helps,

2. No there are no "custom made" terrains or for that matter any other "custom made" objects available for this game, cannot import it in the game core since it is "closed source"

3. Nope

4. Yes search around mission4today.com, you'll find "map templates" basically maps that people populated... usually to depict them historically.
See here;

...look under "Map Templates" section.
