I'm working my way through the RAAF New Guinea campaign. I've got 60 kills out of 39 missons and am a Squadron Leader..... I've even got the VC cod Dam it!!!!!!

The problem is that none of the other aces in the wing get assigned to my squadron. All my wingmen are newbies with 0 to 2 kills. As soon as they get any good they refuse to fly with me. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

It could be that my squadron has a high attrition rate. With at least one wingman dying each misson. Hmmm!!! that's worse odds than Russian Roulet! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Any suggestions about how to get a few good pilots to help out! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Resign your commision and take a desk job and then i'm sure they will come back!

The scuttlebutt is its a dangerous squad since the new squad leader was assigned!

Just kidding of course!? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Go into the FMB after loading each new mission, and manually edit the skill level of your flight... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

That comes to my mind too.

In game there is no way (apart from FMB) that you can change their skill level. However I think that you can edit your Squadron.dat file in Notepad in a way that you assign for instance rank 6 to each of them, and that would mean that they are experienced pilots with high rank. Therefore they will perform better than rookie low-rank pilots. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think I've solved the problem. I think so many new pilot have died that the've stoped sending replacements. By default the better pilots are getting in my flight.

Also i've done a bit of research. During the 44 days that 75 Sqrn RAAF flew from Port Moresby (from March 42) They destroyed 35 Japanese Aircraft for the loss of 22 KittyHawks and 12 Pilots.*

When you compare it to the actual lossess i'm not doing too badly.

Hey, you're doing much better than me. My wingmen usually prefer to die swiftly by crashing their planes into the ground on landing, rather than follow me into another mission.

Unfortunately this has not changed in 4.02, as far as I can tell http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif
