I'm afraid Oleg knows from experince that not all the community IS actually his friend.

WHich is most likely why he rarely posts here anymore.

He cannot waste his time answering every query and moan from people who have no idea, but think 'plane X' should win the war but it isnt in the game when they fly it.

Basically I think he lost faith in the community thanks to a few loud individuals who ruined it for the rest of us.

Oleg can not just come here and be social and engage in conversation because of the grown men who will constantly beg him for stuff like 8 year olds. And tell him how he should design his game because they know better.

Oleg did drop a line in Ivans friendly warning thread but thats about it.

I like the cryptic images of Oleg`s silence.

But i`m afraid it is true. I myself would wince at some of the downright offensive reactions to some of Oleg`s explanations. Some of you newer forum guys wouldn`t believe what **** oleg took and I know I wouldn`t have taken that. The problem is no matter what he says, individuals think they know how to make Oleg`s sim better than him and especially regarding their fave aircraft!

In the end it`s better he keeps a low profile. he did recently post to inform us of hacker fixing and the patch 4.09, so he`s definitely around.....

He`s also a busy man.

Yes the quote is from that article, the text in bold is the piece that some are not reading.

I see this phenomenon all too frequently, news being taken out of context and misquotes exaggerated through re-telling. I don't know what the future holds with maddox but the fact is for now that UBISoft will distribute Maddox Games flight sims.

Actually that is the most interesting piece of it, as it is yet unknown wether this will include the complete series or just the BoB. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The reason for the exception apparently was the allready signed agreement with UBI, according to the Russian site, which posted this first.

I'm not saying that BoB lies in ruins, but it may be a reason why Oleg is seen even more rarely now. And I also understand, if some people are more concerned about that.

Does anyone know if Maddox & Co is producing any other games than SoW:BoB? I've read some talk about a Korean War-sim, but that is maybe someone else? It isn't WWII, anyway, so it should not be affected by this deal..

Look, it is the real world, not Kindergarten. We are under no obligation to pet Oleg. Business is business and schnapps is schnapps. Most of us are discriminating adult consumers, and we deeply deplore whomever (Ubi's or Oleg's) policy of news blackouts which, in effect, treat us like expendable commodities, i.e., our confusion and consternation does not matter. Well, in the real world, it does. Unhappy consumers don't buy products from companies with strange ideas about the company/customer "interface." The mods can pule, whine, growl, and lash out, but the fact remains, this is business, not an infantile "loyalty test" to a man, for Pete's sake. A recognition that the primary consumers of this product are not 13 yr olds is lacking.

They only act like it. Oleg mentioned he would like to start Updates in July if all goes well. Anyone whos ever developed or followed a development this complicated knows sh*t happens. Be sure...Oleg will post something soon enough about the progress. Threats about taking our toys and going home won't change anything. UBI will probably publish BOB SOW but its anyones guess on further installments of the SOW series. This series won't die due to a publisher. The development has advanced far enough and Olegs quality will insure its success.

In the business world there is no such thing as having nothing to say to the consumer. There used to be a wonderful saying in the U.S. (since discarded by bottom line business practices) "the customer is always right." Ubi/Oleg have to sort themselves out, not the customers. It's about time the users demand some interaction, not hero worship. We are not children.

You`re quite right, we`re dealing with big money here and I`d also think they should grab as many customers as possible and ASAP.However, bear in mind that in some countries business matters are quite different.Really, USA, GBR and few more countries have such a good customer treat. In others, you are just a servant who should pay as much money for what they`re giving you.Don`t even try to bring the stuff back.If you go the hard way, they will be taking you to courts for another 2 years. There is no such thing as a refund here.

The salesman says : you are here for us to give us money.

It MAY just be such a case towards this customer base.

Personally, even if I`m not so interested in the game, I`m tired of the trating. It`s always the same.No info, lots of whines for info. Then, after few bans comes the nowhere-to-be-seen- community manager who says things are going the right way and that`s it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif

UBI is to fault for lack of interaction not Oleg. Updates and whatnots are the job of the publisher which is common practice.

I have learned that what passes for good business practices in the wide world and what passes for customary business practices in the computer world are two different things whether it be Apple, Microsoft, Ubisoft, or others. In fact, I am flattened if I find a computer/software/peripherals company which is square with their consumers. They regularly try to get away with stuff which would get most other businesses blacklisted. Compared to the honest straightforward dealings I have with most online publishers, booksellers, hobby shops, etc, the dealings I have with the computer world are appalling.

There`s a point here. Many of us stated that we will buy SOW the day it comes out, so we don`t need any marketing http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
