I've used it for a little fun, a lot of info, and helping to sustain my enthusiasm...and for an escape. I'm usually working at this desk when I pop in as I do with a few other sites. As time goes on I feel I'm becoming more a lurker as most subjects seem to recycle, its never been close to genuine socializing for me.

Same as Tully - only I don't use it much anymore as I fly/build missions more than I browse. Tech support is my fav.

"So when Diogenes perceived that he was greatly excited and quite keyed up in mind with expectancy, he toyed with him and pulled him about in the hope that somehow he might be moved from his pride and thirst for glory and be able to sober up a little. For he noticed that at one time he was delighted, and at another grieved at the same thing, and that his soul was as unsettled as the weather at the solstices when both rain and sunshine come from the very same source."

(Dio Chrysostom "Discourse" 4.77-78)

Well I really do this for fun, but I got tons of info from this community, or even better, ideas Where to get it.

Its quite impressive that a so unlikely lot can produce anything good , but I guess we all have a fling for ww2 aviation in common, wich makes us look through our differencies? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Like Tully said, you can learn something about practically everything here. The addition I make to that is it gives me something to do while my virtual crewchief cries while patching my plane http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif . I mean, my two fav callsigns aren't icrash and leadmagnet for nothing.

Fun, considering most the people on ubi and HL chat mroe then they fly. These forums use to be alot better as soon as you post you get 10-15 replies in a few minutes. It seems the fun has not been allowed and the strictness drove many away to other forums.

www.simhq.com (http://www.simhq.com) have great forums, but they are even slower then ubis but have much better information and interesting aviation related topics and discussions. Here we can not have discussions whihc are instantly dubbed whines.

I'm here to learn about the game and some history, especially about the air war on the Eastern front. But being an aerospace engineer, mostly I'm here to berate others on the technical aspects of flight. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
