Hi guys.

It's been a looooooong time.

I've just reinstalled FB+AEP+PF for some offline fun.

I'm looking for some files which I never backed up before I stopped playing last time.

The files I need were originally mentioned in this thread (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=23110283&m=306102681)

German Chatter File(20Mb) (http://people.ee.ethz.ch/%7Echapman/flightsims/oberstguncam/SoundFiles/Germanchatter.zip)
Japanese Chatter File(18Mb) (http://people.ee.ethz.ch/%7Echapman/flightsims/oberstguncam/SoundFiles/Japanesechatter.zip)
Russian Chatter File(19Mb) (http://people.ee.ethz.ch/%7Echapman/flightsims/oberstguncam/SoundFiles/Russianchatter.zip)

Does anybody have these files stored anywhere?

I don't. I had a HD crash myself, lost a large amount of things

If you want to do yourself a favor, chase down a copy of Il2 1946. Lots of new campaigns and such made that need it. There's quite a good series of them by FlatSpinMan

But welcome back, Simon

Welcome back. I still have your Battle over Britain installed and occasionally take the Hurri for a spin. As cid says get a hold of IL" 1946 or even IL2 1946. It's where most people are now. After install you need one patch to get to 4.08. 4.09 is two weeks away ...

Edit: I'd post a link to a good IL246 getting up and running thread at SimHQ but the site is down at the moment.

I've got russian in-flight chatter, but it's only 3 files totalling 2.18mb.
So it probably isn't the same thing as you're talking about.

There are a few speech packs here...

http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&c=557

I think that the German one is one of the ones you want, but I've no idea about Japanese and Russian ones. I'd be quite interested in the Russian one myself.

Nice to see you back.

Wow. That's a name I haven't heard in a long time. The game is still fun, possibly more so. As everyone says, picking upo IL2 1946 for a few pounds would be well worth your while. Your BOB campaign is the one that inspred me to keep playing and to create my own campaigns so thanks very much. If you do play my first campaign you'll notice a mission or two that echo your campaign.

Hey!! Welcome back man..... Maybe you can update the squadrons page.. I already updated it and submitted the updated file back in July .. but the page still has the same outdated info it had when you left. If you have the juice to do that let let me know and I will send the file to you and all you will have to do is simply upload it. I updated the new squads and removed the dead links.

I have all of those files and many more including some redone java dutch, british, italian, russian female, etc. speech packs.....

ALso, ways to swap them out "while in the sim" not just while external.......

Trouble is, where to host them?.....In kind I could try and make a single downlaod including all, and the control software yet that will be a massive file......Any ideas? as I will NOT do what I did before and send them to one person after another in a string of countless emails.

Not a single person who said they would host them if I would, did. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Man...I think they are on my old PC. That will be a little while till I wrestle around with that one to see where they are.

LEBillfish
09-29-2007, 01:34 PM
Ok, here's what I'm going to do......

First off, I'll gather up all of the various files I have scattered on the pc, check those i'm unsure of (as to compatibility with IL2), alter those off and sort them...

I'll next build the following:

Programs:
IL2FBwav by Dan Humphrey (easy way to control your background files and determine what is used "BEFORE" in the sim)
Chatter Bandaid by Billfish: Allows you to change what you're listening to (german chatter, Japanese chatter, US music and entertainment radio, etc.) once in the sim.
In Flight Music & Randomizer (IMR) by JRJacobs (not tried it yet supposedly WILL make files play in randon sequence and replaces chatter bandaid)

Speech Packs:
All we have stock, plus French, Italian, British, Java Dutch, Austrailian, FeatheredIV's Russian female, etc. so you can decide which you want to use (some extra scratchy, others redone and much more realistic sounding then in sim).

Chatter Packs:
Nationalities are: U.S., British, German, Japanese, Russian and will set these up based on theatre as well (So 1 japanese/russian, yet German/US/British by front) so crossover chatter is correct.

Music & News:
Set up by nationality and by theatre. (ex. U.S. would have U.S. Western theatre and Pacific theatre....Each theatre would then be broken up into Friendly M&N/Enemy M&N/Mix M&N...meaning U.S. will have 6 choices of radio to choose from.

Sounds:
This little remembered area allows you to add music, news, radio, chatter, even briefings so that they play when a mission runs in the briefing area...(ex. Running a SIngapore mission? Can have a news broadcast of the attack play, and any who have it will hear it to in the briefing area).

I'll then put them all together, write up a readme.txt, then make a multiple file, self building, and placement zip set that will allow you to simply install the first and the rest will follow on their own (must have all on your pc).....and place the various zips on a file host service.....

My guess is they'll keep it there 1 month.

No, I'll not send various files to Tom, and D*ck, and Harry, nor make versions that don't include part of the above....

Give me roughly a week+ to put it all together, and in the meantime if you have "era" music, news, military radio broadcasts, or other chatter or speech files you'd like to see included in this set then post a link to them here (yet they MUST already be in a working IL2 format, as that will be the hardest thing for me to figure out) for addition.

It will be too difficult to set this up as to year...So generic stuff will go in most files, specific events, dates (pearl harbor for ex.) will go in "sounds".

I'll post the final link to the files in this thread.......Expect roughly 200-400Mb worth of files (maybe more as they do get repeated deliberately).

Well then "quickly" post links to what you all would like added in.......

A simple sound, like magnetos winding up and a DB601 starting, or sounds of tanks rolling, or speeches, news flashes all make for great stuff in mission briefs (remember, a simple line in the mission file will make the sound play for all who have it in the briefing room)......

YET, if you don't have the sound in the directory you'll not hear it.........Here's a chance for coops and the like to get a real boost.

Hey mate long time no 'see'

I feel and have always felt guilty for the praise heaped upon me for our campaign.

It must be said that Poymando's input shaped the BoB campaign in such a way that it would have almost certainly failed otherwise.

I hope you still get the odd obscure email from out of the blue, as I do, asking questions like; "Why am I flying over the Gulf of Finland?" or "Why do I keep hearing RAF radio transmissions ever since installing your campaign?"

Bad news is I have become swamped r/l, without exageration within hours of making my post above...So this project will be delayed somewhat.

That said the good news is the basic files E1 wants I'll try and find somewhere today to host then post the links here....Not how I'd like to do this yet simply won't have the time for a while...

My next post in this htread will be to the links.

Utility programs......

http://www.speedyshare.com/889814999.html Chatter bandaid which allows you to change what you're listening to "in the sim".

http://www.speedyshare.com/194744873.html IL2FBWav by Dan Humphrey, which is an excellent program to change out sound file packs "before you're in the sim" and oragnize them.

http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=2051 The In flight music randomizer at M4T by JRJacobs....SUpposedly, this is an improvement over my chatter bandaid above also adding the feature of truly randomizing the tracks....SO chatter bandaid may be obsolete.

WHat you do with all the above is...Install either the chatter bandaid or IMR (or both to see what you like and the CB is very self workable as to commands and so on)....Also install IL2FBWav as this will help you even more be able to work with your sound files....

The files above play during Take off, inflight, crash times during play....The chatter packs are simply background radio traffic and sounds adding to the flight experience.

Ask any questions here...

Also have the following speech packs in my IL2 folders....SOme stock, some add-ons yet can't recall which are which.....An added pack has real accents, and in some cases background static, clicks, noise.....Let me know if you're missing any of the following;

AU australian
DE German
DU Java Dutch
DU-english Java Dutch yet british sounding
FI Finnish
FR French
GB Great Britain
GB-BOB Great Britain (more static)
HU Hungarian (think)
IT Italian
JA Japanese
PL Polish
RO Romainian
RU Russian
SK Scandinavian (think)
