View Full Version : Dissapointed in ATI drivers

The last 2 versions have dropped my framerate, and brought on a severe stutter that has been driving me nuts trying to pin down.

Today I removed ATIs drivers and installed Omega's most recent version.
My frame rate is up almost 10 fps and although not compleatly gone, the stutters have subsided to loads and spawns, where before view changes, engine managment and squeezing off a couple of rounds seemed to trigger them with the ATI drivers.

Think I'll be using Omega until ATI can stablize thiers up some.

I'm not having any problems with my X800. The last couple of updates haven't shown much of a change for me, in any way.

Yea, I know they are.
They just seem more stable on my machine.

Know where you are coming from there m8. I went to buy a s/hand vid card on Ebay and got stitched for 60, bummer.

Some kind soul on here sold me a an X800 pro, for the same price.

After trading in my old 9800 at cex (in England) Total outlay was about 25, well it would have been apart from the w****r on Ebay.

It is worth it though. I didn't see a great fps increase because of the cpu nature of IL2 and initially I was a bit dissapointed.

Then I looked at the picture quality, the way the game ran a lot smoother with the extra vid ram, and the fact that the cats do seem to help me everytime now,,, plus a few frames extra, well worth it.

There are some good deals around now on older vid cards that definately don't have to cost an arm and a leg..

Money money money... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

On my 9800 Pro it is the opposite.I think the latest driver is the smoothest I ever had (the previous one wasn´t bad either). But of course,I´ve not compared the fps numbers between drivers.I instead go with those wich feels best in games.
