A colleague of mine mentioned a story today of a Dutchman who dug up a Douglas/Northrop DB-8A back in the 1970's. (This airplane was used by the Dutch in may 1940).
The man found the original pilot and invited him over to see the airplane/cockpit parts. Turned out that the pilot had later joined the Luftwaffe and saw action on the eastern front.
After the war he didn't want to fly again, instead he bought a boat. He was never invited to Dutch airforce "parties" after the war.

Who was this pilot? Anybody ever heard of this?

Alles wat ik teweten ben gekomen is dat het (waarschijnlijk) een Limburger was, van Duitse origine. Janssen of iets dergelijks... Concrete dingen heb ik niet, mijn excuses http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
