I made this not so short intro to share with you guys my ideas for future Assassins Creed settings. Assassins Creed 1 and 2 where GREAT games !!! Playing them gave me a pretty unique experience for a video game so I expect the next AC3 to be at least as great as the previous two http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif So I feel obliged to throw you some of my ideas that i think would make AC3 a good game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif!
Now since completing Assassins Creed 2 there`s one question going so badly trough my mind as I`m sure it got to yours to : Where Next? Where is the next Assassins Creed gonna take place ? For sure the story whon`t end with brotherhood http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Ubi sead that this is gonna be a trilogy. They even said something about feudal Japan king Arthur`s time .
For sure there are so many places around the globe that are fit for an AssassinCreed type of game but considering the kind of settings we got so far I think that there are some conditions that a Time period should match in order to be a possible setting in Assassins Creed 3
So here`s what I mean :

-1- It should be a famous and yet unexplored time period
Now in these days a gamer can become more familiar with WW2 than even his great grandfather that actualy participated in it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif!
The whole purpouse of the AC franchise is " to take players to settings normally unvisited in games! Such where the time of the crusades and that of the renesance and such must also be the setting of the next title http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
It should however be a place that most people are gonna be familiar with and such where global changing events take place http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

-2- It should include real historical characters
Now since most of the characters in AC and AC 2 where real historical figures , we asume that the next game would also include people who lived in the time of its setting. However not just people but some famous historical figures that changed the world somehow !

-3- It should be in a time/place that is comfortable for the gameplay elements of Assassins Creed
-3.1-
Parkour
We need Churches!(now I bet you didn`t thought of that one)Why do we need churches ?
well besides churches and mosques Idon`t know of taller structures that where massivly constructed in towns troughout history http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif And we need taller structures for our next assassin to climb and observe the whole town from above.
Without the abillity to jump from a 70 meter tall structure it just whon`t be Assassin`s creed !! Now I know you could possibly also jump from wach towers , huge statues , temples etc. but it whont be the same . Sure our assassin could climb up let`s say...Taj Mahal but are there like 5-10 taj mahals in every city? Besides christian churches and muslim mosques I don`t know of buildings so massiv?ly constructed trough towns and we need many viewpoints in a town we wanna play http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
as the previos two games ,AC3 should also take place in an urban civilisation. We should ofcourse have a civilised cosiety living in huge towns with many houses and buildings to parkour .
-3.2-
The Combat
So far the major element of combat was swordfighting. If the next game is set in an age too close to modern days there shouldn`t be any cold weapons , wich means no more sword dance and no more bloody spectaculr counter kills http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Do you want such a sequel ? I don`t and so I don`t expect it to be set in the time where cold weapons beame absolite . Also playing in a time where fire arms are common means that a single guy realisticaly shouldn`t be able to defeat like 10 other people alone in combat and then run away ! Just think about it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
So consicering the above conditions there are some possible settings I think ,I find
suitable for maybie next assassins creed sequel(s):

-1- Japan during the Meiji Restoration :
It was a time where japanese national traditions clashed with the new modern cultural influence of the west . As one of desmond`s ancestors we could learnabout the huge changes there , the people triggering them and there is a spot for many many conspirasies going on in that time http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

-2- The Byzantine Empire during it`s downfall: When thinking about medieval europe many people make references to France , England , The holy Roman Empire - All great kingdoms ! But before their kingdoms rose to power the religious cultural and military superpower was in South Eastern Europe - The Byzantine Empire !! It influenced the cultures of so many countries , Its lands are so rich of intriguing history. Thus the empire has a great record of Assassinating rulers , making dirty deals with foreign countries , conspiracies , secret orders etc.
Its just a shame that No video game has yet let us explore the age of the Byzantine Empire !
I think it would be especialy interesting to play during the struggle with the Ottoman turks and the fall of Constantinople !

There are many other places I can think of but wright now I`m tired of reading http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif and I`m gonna have a break now http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif and mayibie post something later , but I would like to see what do you guys think of my ideas http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Would like to see a setting or at last a part as whole setting of AC3 in Germany http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Yes, there is more about Germany then WW2!

Thirty Years War could be an option. Altough may english speaking people, especially americans my not be familiar with it much.
