October 14th in 1943 Walter Nowotny scored six aerial victories flying the Fw190 for JG54. Inspired by this event I took theFly's skin of that particular kite and made an artwork showing how I imagine the last kill of that day, a La5 at an autuum's dusk.

Skin by, as mentioned, theFly and Cannon. Thanks to Jester for some VERY useful hints too.

Excellent - what a great shot! Nice composition - the aircraft look correct and beautifully rendered.

I'll check out the site - thanks for the link.

Overall very nice! I also like the composition.

Two critiques:

1) For the relatively sharp rendering of the props, the tips fade too much. That degree of fading would be more appropriate for a rather larger arc of travel.

2) Based on the landscape perspective and the line of the hills to the left, the bright patch of sky appears to my eye to be a tad too low. If the apparent horizon from higher altitudes as represented in IL2 is your guide, I can see how this could occur.

Thanks gents.

Well I did a lot before, just browse www.screenshotprints.com (http://www.screenshotprints.com) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Lurch, I stopped debating props. Everyone does them differently and I prefer that style a lot. Leaving the tips more solid takes away too much motion from them and let's the prop look too static.

I'm very often putting a lot artistic license into the images to make the composition fall together properly. It's like "composition over physics" Glad you appreciate it anyways.
