BoB will run on lowest settings on 2009 best system, be sure.

Really sweet model. Something CG, or for FS200X maybe?

Not sure... To do something like that they'd need specular maps and self-shadowing. Very easily overlooked, unfortunately.

Well I hope not, I would like the aircraft to look similar to the workhorses they were, ie a little the worse for wear not painted and purdy for the show.

Some unedited screenshots.

This is the Shockwave Bf109E-4 for FS2004. It is done to amazing levels of detail and I would think Olegs BoB should equal and surpass it in many ways. Add some dynamic shadows and I would imagine you would have an idea of how the aircraft models in Oleg's BoB will look. For me flying around is not just about combat, FS2004 delivers a different type of experience to the IL2 series. I love warbirds and when they are done to the level of detail that these Shockwave addons are done then just flying them is fun.

The repaints in the screenshots below are done by me and are available on sim-outhouse.comand avsim.com (if you have the Shockwave WWII Fighters pack to use them). I would hardly class them as painted and purdy for the show http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I just hope that Oleg`s BOB aircraft don`t look so squeaky clean. When I first started with IL2, I always felt that all aircraft looked far too new and clean.

When I look at real footage you can see that even starting up a WWII bird on the first mission kicks up a heck of a lot of exhaust fumes from the engines and while flying. Combine this with mutiple aircraft and missions, well, even giving them a shower every day wouldn`t keep them as clean as IL2 has them.

Anyway, user-skins did cure a lot of that... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi SeafireLV

IMHO weathering should looks a lot more subdued when screenshots are taken from external views. when I look at photos of the aircraft prior to painting them the weathering is usually very subtle. The vast majority of BoB era Bf109 photos show very subtle weathering.

Here is a shot from the cockpit of the Bf109E-4 looking over the left wing. You can see that the paint is very worn and faded in areas, most definately not squeeky clean. The problem with repainting/skinning is finding the correct balance. What looks like nice weathering from external view looks like **** from internal view. I'm sure you are ware of this considering you are an accomplished IL2 skinner.
