I flew the Zero for the first time in a small mission called 'Low altitude raid' from Mudmovers, and I noticed that when the mission started, there is a gunsight that folds down out of the way. How do you put that sight back up again? I hit the Shift-F1 keys but, all that did was center the "other" gunsight like on the German aircraft. Can someone enligten me on what the foldaway sight is used for, and how do you cycle it? Is it a Bombsight? Thanks.

There is no key to 're-arm' the 'iron gunsight' but I'd love it if that feature were added.

(1) Its a backup gunsight in case your primary gets shot out or disabled.

(2) Eye Candy, we can't use it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I only wish for the I-153 to have that feature. Now you are looking trough two gunsights wich isn't good for your aiming.

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge,
ye shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be measured
to you again.

No, it's actually a back-up in case the reflector sight's lightbulb burns out. Burned out lightbulbs are not modelled in FB. Only in the world of FB do bullets magically seem to always take out gunsights but leave the plane able to fight.

Yep. It's a shame they left it there in the Chaika. It really spoils the visibility. Definitely a real bug in the game.

The moving iron sight in the Zero is a nice touch, but I also wish it moved back into position with some key combination.
I hope it all works fine in the J8A. It has a very similar gunsight, the Revi 3C, but the dark filter was removed by the Swedish pilots, which menans we could use CRTL+H to move the iron sight in and out. No new keys needed.

Yea the BF109 has a special bullet homing beacon.
Any bullet within 50 yards turns around and is sucked right into the gunsight. Then black oil is generously applied to the wind shield so you have absolutly no chance to shoot anything.
