I recently completed a clean install of Windows XP on my computer and have reinstalled PF-AE-FB. I had previously installed Patch 3.03 and it worked well. Should I proceed to to also load 4.01m? The reason I ask is that my system is low-end (Dell 2350 with Intel integrated graphics. I boosted performance with a 512 RAM stick, and it actually performed quite well on "high" settings.

I have read that some aspects of Patch 4.01 may require a higher level of PC performance. Should I install?

Absolutly!
My system isnt that great and with 4.01 there isnt much difference than before.
Of course having the new clouds can play havoc those are easy enough to change.

Definitely give it a go - as Flaker said, the only thing that you'll notice changing your performance is the new clouds (and those give a fairly massive FPS hit).

However it's simple to turn them off, you simply add the line 'TypeClouds=0' to the [game] section of your conf.ini

You also might want to be careful about the method of patching. If you've simply installed Patch 3.03m, you can put 4.01m over the top without a problem. If you've installed 3.01m or 3.02m beforehand, you'll probably want to start with a clean install again (some people have experience weird problems when installing 'all' of the patches, rather than just 3.03m, then 4.01m - which contains all of the previous content anyway).

By all means but do yourself a HUGE favor and spend $100-$150 on a new video card..... you will see a difference....

Welcome to my frustration. I purchased GeForce FX5200 last year. Cannot install, though I've contacted support at the manufacturer (PNY) and Dell. I need a BIOS upgrade (which I have downloaded), but the upgrade will not install. Weird. I'm saving for a real computer.
