Yes, a Saitek evo is a good starting joystick.

A word of advice, though, this is a pretty difficult game/sim to master, so just keep plugging away and don't get discouraged.

Make sure you check out all the links in Bearcat's stickied posts at the top of the Forums pages; they'll be a big help.

I had a Saitek EVO Forcefeedback a while ago. For the MOST part I liked it.

As a first stick I can recommend it, but if you HAVEN'T bought a stick yet I liked the feel of Saitek's Aviator a little better.

Wait until you're REALLY hooked. You'll be back asking recommendations fot HOTAS setups. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif You'll discover that there are benifits to a more robust control system. Untill that time you're good to go with either of these sticks.

Welcome to the nut house. Enjoy the show.

Go to Mission4Today and download my training campaign. It will help you with takeoffs and landings.

Welcome aboard... if you follow the regimin I posteds at the top of this board... you will at least get your initial frustration with a goal in mind and a plan. I highly recomend at the very least the Joint Ops BFM school after you get the things I mentioned in the sticky under your belt. Only time and practice will make you an online killer.... but practice and patience will keep the whole thing fun.
