Sad to hear that, Bear. I know you remember him, Mel Blanc and Wally Cox. They were the voices of our heroes.

Lets not forget that Don Adams also voice Inspector Gadget and thus became a legend to millions of Australian kids between 4:30 and 5:00 weekdays, thanks to the ABC.

RIP Don, will miss you all by "this much".

I always liked the bit where he bends down to hear the last words of the poor schmuck who is stabbed or shot or whatever and is dying - and 99 asked

"What did he say Max?"

and he answered - "Take your knee off my chest." http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

LOL... one of my favorite Get Smarts was Dr. Yes.... (Jawol, oui,Da,si..)

My mother used to hang Get Smart over my head to get me to cooperate..... LOL.

RIP Don. You you believe I never laughed so hard in my life? Well how about a chuckle? A titter?

Maxwell Smart always made me smile. (Agent 99 made other things...well we won't go there. I was a teenager after all)

When I heard I turned on the "Cone of Silence" for a few moments in his memory.

Don Adams was also a WWII vet. He was in Guadacanal and caught what was then known as the blackwater disease. He was sent home and served as a drill instructor. You made me laugh alot Max, thanks.

R.I.P. Don "Maxwell Smart" Adams

Wow, just the other day Max and I were cruising at 3km in our Mk. VIIIs, when we spotted 100 FW-190-A9s closing on us fast. We single-handedly fought off the first wave of 90 and the other 10 ran off scared...OK, would you believe 90 109s and 10 FWs?!?! OK, would you believe, 1 FW and 99 Girl Scout paratroopers?!?

"Missed it by that much!!!"

Can't get a remotely accurate tally on the homework not done or delayed by watching that show. While my Dad was in Vietnam, my Mom and I would do a weekly synopsis of the show in that day's letter. I can't count the times Mom would be telling me to write a particularly funny line or bit down before we forgot it...

For those of you who are too young to have seen the show in its sixties' context, it's very hard to explain the full charm (especially when juxtaposed to The Man From U.N.C.L.E). But if you can, catch a few episodes on TVLand. You'll be glad you did.

cheers

hey bearcat do you know why this image was totally removed?

I made sure the image passed the guidelines of the forums, no swatsrika, no profanity etc. Thread was entirely deleted not even locked by a power hungry burgerking hat totten power trip mod
