README
Pacific Fighters v.4.02 (4.02m)

Warning

The current version 4.02 (4.02m) is not compatible with the previous versions of the sim when playing over the network (Online). Both the server and client must have the appropriate versions in order to connect.

For your convenience, we have introduced different version numbers for the stand-alone installation and the merged (FB+AEP+PF) install.
4.02 €" for stand-alone PF
4.02m €" for merged (FB+AEP+PF)
Attention: versions 4.02 and 4.02m are not compatible with each other when playing over the network (Online).

Patch Installation Instructions (Please read carefully)

The 4.02 patch installs only over 4.01 (PF stand alone).
The 4.02m patch installs only over 4.01m (FB+AEP+PF merged).

In order to install this patch, run the following:

1) For Stand alone: PF_patch402.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
2) For Merged: PF_patch402m.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.

Please note that the merged version of Pacific Fighter will get all additions and features that are listed below, while the stand alone installation will only get the Pacific Fighters-specific ones marked by €˜*€.

New Features

Flight Model

- adjusted ground effect *
- adjusted gyro effect *
- Aerodynamic focus dependency on angle of attack *
- Flap position now affects aileron sensitivity
- P-39 no longer rolls when the engine is started / shut off *
- IAR-80 / 81 trimmer reversed
- BF-109 flight model fine tuned
- various small changes to other aircraft *

New Aircraft.

Flyable aircraft:

Yak-7B, 1942
- M-105 PF engine

P-47D, 1944 *
150 octane and increased boost pressure. Performance almost like P-47M

New AI ground objects

Armored train.

New Map

Northwest Europe
Creators: Ian Boys, Oleg Rozhentsov

Modifications and fixes

There is a large number of small modifications and fixes to the entire code of our simulation.
We accumulated users input and fixed lots of big and little things in order to polish our simulation even further. We sincerely thank all our users who were so helpful in the process!

- Added Fiat CR.42€s tail wheel rotation (limited)
- Corrected the probability of the FW-190 catching fire
- Landing gear breaks easier when skidding

Changes to AI:

- formation algorithm *
- take-off *
- landing / taxi *
- Bombing in shallow dive for fighters and fighter-bombers (attack aircraft) *
- Il-2 aiming with rockets

If you have a computer with a Pentium 4 processor, you may occasionally encounter game lock-ups or crashes to desktop. In order to solve that, copy your il2_core.dll into the il2_corep4.dll (for example, with the following command: "copy il2_core.dll il2_corep4.dll"; or, in Windows Explorer, navigate to your sim installation directory, delete the existing il2_corep4.dll, make a copy of the il2_core.dll, and rename the copy to il2_corep4.dll)

Corrected the issue on machines with NVidia drivers 72.xx and above, where we had to work around an NVidia bug that caused parts of objects to disappear.

Special thanks to the third party creators

As I got this from THIS site (the link in the 'Game updates' section) I hope nobody will take offence at me redirecting part of this (From THIS SITE) readme taken from the games update section on the main page of the FB/PF site (This site)!!!
In case I did not make myself clear...this was downloaded from a link posted HERE on the games update page of THIS site for ALL to see, not posted on a mere thread: So please don't ban me.

Just showing what we were given earlier today ALREADY.

For those who are still at work etc, etc here are a few pics of the new map. Looks good, really nice ground textures - lots of farmhouses, different shape and colour fields, way more interesting than the old Smolensk map of course- has a nice river port and a train station junction thing which I haven't seen before. Also a couple of interesting things on the hilltops (radar station, castle). Like Major Setback, I D/Led from main page just about an hour ago before it was deemed unreleased.

I have only flown the new P-47. There is a POSSIBILITY that it MIGHT be smoother to fly but I may easily just be imagining things. Take-offs still saw the plane swinging about quite a lot and the nose rising and falling as before (I don't fly the P47 usually so am not qualified to judge, hence, POSSIBILITY and MIGHT)
Just to let you know.

Thanks for posting the ReadMe! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Some interesting changes I noticed in the ReadMe:

- Flap position affecting aileron sensitivity

- Landing Gear breaks easier when skidding

Highly noticeable differences?

@Rikupsoni
Hi! Not sure what you meant in your question. If you mean where is the new MAP (northern Europe), then it is available by going into the Full Mission Builder in version 4.02m (which WAS available and then was made UN available shortly after).
If you mean a mission, there is no new mission. The pictures you see in the link are of a couple of planes and ships I added to the new map when I played it to have a look around. Except for ships and planes, all other objects are already on the map. Mission makers will be able to use the new map to create missions obviously, and I believe there will be a paid campaign pack addon by Ian Boys featuring the new map.
Hope that helps.

I've heard the prop is back for the Spitfire Vc, but the nose is still missing from cockpit view. Can anyone confirm with a picture?
