Fly the US big warbirds against the Japanese Knats and what do you get?

P-38s vs Zeros and all the reasons for building fast, powerful slower turning aircraft go out the window...as the combat turns into a T & B just like in CFS2.

I was wondering how this would be handled prior to the PF release. Two entirely different ways of fighting for each enemy, but everything ends up as T & B. P-38s trying to turn with Zeros, what a hoot. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Now, I'm not surprised, because I guessed as much. I'd just be interested to know if 1C:Maddox has other plans to correct this, if possible.

If you suggest that the energy fighters (or simply fighters with better acceleration or better top speed) are in inferior position when compared to the TnB planes (like Zero or Oscar) you may be right in most cases.

Also worth to mention, that if a pair of good BnZers meet pair of TnBers of similar skill, there is no doubt that the BnZers are in advantage. That is of course my opinion on the matter.(then again. this heavily depends on the a/c types in game).

In the real life, I have no doubt whatsoever, that the energy fighters have total domination over TnBers, since the pilot just have to push the throttle hard, and gain altitude advantage after that all is clear.

Also, I must say that it seems to me that the game does not reflect this difference well. But this is just my opinion. Some of you guys may disagree with me but..

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif Offline all AI aircraft wind up in turn fights, if one side is Japanese T & B aircraft. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

Reminds me of MSFT CFS2... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

Offline? well I have noticed strange thing; AI follow me in turns 'till the treetops (in better turning plane -- for example I'm in Cobra vs. AI Zero) --> suddenly they give up turning, just like they are 'scared'. And the fact that he's almost on my six (he's of course winning in turns) does not make a difference. This is kinda bug or somethin'..
