View Full Version : Pro Pedal toe brakes won't work.

Hey gang. I tried landing today and ran off the runway because my brakes would not work.

I checked game controlers control panel setting and the Z axis (rudder contol) works but X & Y give no input anymore! WTF!?

These pedals are 4 months old. Unfortunately, there is no box and no reciept because they were a birthday gift that my super sweet girlfriend made "magically appear" under my desk.

The only thing I can think of that could possibly have caused this is my Cyborg's main trigger broke and stuck in the ON position... this doesn't seem the likely culprit though, but I am out of ideas.

What can I do?

Sometimes the wires in the pedals break and need to be resoldered, but I don't think both would go at the same time!!

Have you tried just pulling out the USB cable and plugging it back in? That solves a lot of problems sometimes.

If you want to check if the Cyborg is doing it , just unplug everything, replug in the pedals and see if the axis work again in the CH software.
Also, just check in game, that you(or a software glitch) haven't wiped out the brake mapping - try both pedals, and see if you can remap the brake axis.

You could try asking at the CH Hanger....they know everything about this stuff...

Okay, so seeing as how I just noticed that the "do not remove or your warrenty is void" sticker has half rubbed off, I opened the sucker up thinking as long as it isn't a fried chip on the control board it should be within my repair skills.

It seems that 2 wires (blue & black) from the right pedal has been cleanly severed and a brown wire eminating from the contol board is not attached to anything... would this take out both pedals?

Does anyone have a link to an exploded diagram and/or wiring diagram?

This thing is a bit of a puzzle to put back together once I get the wiring fixed.
(Apparently I opened it up upside down)

Yeah, Prop_Strike!

Thanks for your reply. I was typing at the same time as you. I tired all of the software/USB trobleshooting things first before I posted.

You were right about the wires.

In game go esc then into controls look for the brake command and see if there is anything selected to the right of it as well as B if not put mouse where the other commands are and click once, t will open a window then press the pedals and it should assign it to them, then save at the bottom.......... thaat then should give you the input again if that was it.

Okay! I know what is wrong now I have found all of the broken wires. Right pedal had 2 the left had 1 broken.

Now if someone has a picture of what the insides of this gizmo should look like properly put together I'll by them a virtual beer.

Thanks man, that takes care of the wiring... now it's just the reassembly.

p.s. You guys work fast and are awesome and I love you... but not in a gay way... not that there is anything wrong with that.

Just take your time and you will figure out how to put the "jigsaw puzzle" back together.

I pulled mine apart to widen them and bits and pieces flew all over the place!!
I thought OPPS!!....i'll never fix them....but it didn't take long to figure it out logically. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif
If you find any stray metal pins(small ones, not the big ones) they are from the middle of the small rollers that the pedals run on!!
Took me a while to realize what this "extra pin" was for...LOL http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

The wiring diagram for 'Pro Pedals USB' kind of shows how they look back together.....may give you a clue if you're stuck....good luck http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Thanks everyone!

1 hour from problem to perfection... not bad!
These forums kick ***!

As for the pedals, what a horrible design for wire guides. I checked the other ones and the wires were starting to go in those too.

I taped 'em up and left them out of the guides.
