In the post today I recieved "U-Boat Bases and Bunkers 1941-45" by Gordon Williamson. ISBN 1-841176-556-2

This is all about the U-Boat bases in Lorient, Brest, St. Nazaire, La Pallice, Bordeaux in France, and Norway: Bergen, Trondheim and Germany:Kiel, Hamburg and Helgoland and also focuses on the 'Valentin' factory at Bremenr that built the XXI Boats.

Some great shots I've never seen before of the construction, operation and eventual downfall and demise of these massive concrete buildings. I really must get my old flat bed scanner out and post some pics. It's a good read, excellent modern day computer generated aerial cutaway images of all the pens.

I got it from Amazon UK.

Goose - I got a copy of that book from eBay too. An excellent addition to the collection! Have you had time to read any of it yet? It's actually very well written. The narrative that describes Prien's Scapa Flow attack - from both sides - is as enthralling as it is saddening.

There's another great book in Time Life's 'Third Reich' series called 'Wolf Packs' which I also got from eBay - it's a similar format to 'The U-boats'. There's a copy of Wolf Packs (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/THE-THIRD-REICH-WOLF-PACKS-WW-II-TIME-LIFE-BOOKS-LKNU_W0QQitemZ140024019504QQihZ004QQcategoryZ378QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosti ng) available on eBay, but I think you can get it second-hand on amazon.co.uk too.
