... a new version of my dedicated co-op controller software is ready for open testing. The new version is enhanced with many new features, including the ability to fly in dynamically generated campaigns. I will periodically run my prototype system with it until Monday (19th March) next week, so if you have the time to fly online, take the opportunity and try it out.

Overview:
=======
Version: 4.08m
Difficulty settings: full switch minus external views and speedbar.
Hyperlobby name: full_difficulty
All Seeing Eye name: IL2DSC 2.0 testing (in Coop folder)
Server status: http://web.t-online.hu/rnzoli/IL2DSC/status.html

Campaign set
==========

<span class="ev_code_YELLOW">01_Warm_up</span>
Static warm-up misisons for the dynamic campaigns. Players can use these quick missions to get familiar with the environment and the airplanes involved. Also good fun while waiting for friends and other squad members to show up.

<span class="ev_code_YELLOW">02_DCG_Finland_1941</span>
Dynamic campaign generated by DCG with early Hurricaines and I-16s. Recommended for the the real pilots, who are not afraid of negative G cut-outs. The campaign is configured for testing the mission launch restriction by a password normally available to the commanders of the squadrons participating in the campaign. For testing reasons however, the password is available to everyone, use DSC LAUNCH 1234 command to remove the mission launch restriction as a normal player. Besides, an active administrator can launch the mission at any time, too.

<span class="ev_code_YELLOW">03_DCG_Pacific_1942</span>
Dynamic campaign generated by DCG with early Zero's and P-40B Warhawks. The campaign is configured for testing the mission launch restriction by player count. At least 2 normal players must be in the server in order to end the briefing and start the mission launch countdown. Nevertheless, an active administrator can override this restriction and launch the mission at any time. This campaign is also automatically closed for new players, therefore no new players can join the missions after they are launched. Joining this campaign is only possible during missions briefing and after the missions end.

<span class="ev_code_YELLOW">04_DCG_France_1944</span>
Dynamic campaign generated by DCG with FW-190A-8 and P-47D-22s. This campaign has no launch restriction.

10_DEMO_NorthWestEurope_1945
11_DEMO_Moscow_1941
12_DEMO_Marianas_1944_1945
These are the old static campaigns which were used in the initial testing the co-op controller more than 7 months ago. These campaigns are out of rotation, and only made available to allow regressive tests on static campaings.

Dynamic campaigns
===============
The used dynamic campaign generator is Paul Lowengrin's DCG, latest version 3.33. My prototype server is not powerful enough to host full-sized campaings, therefore only 2 squadrons are active on each map. The column and stationary object density is set to 'sparse' and the action radius to 100 km. The ship skils are set to Rookie an ROF to 10.0 to make them less effective. DCG mission result analysis and new mission generation is done at the end of each dinamic mission, which takes about 2-3 additional minutes. After the generation of the next mission for the campaing, the new mission for the same campaign is loaded on the server. This means that the dynamic campaigns are never rotated automatically to the next one, switching from one dynamic campaign to another one requires the use of DSC MAP command.

A full description of the new controller version is available at http://web.t-online.hu/rnzoli/IL2DSC/intro-coop.html . If you are familiar with the previous version of the server controller, you may focus on the new things highlighted with yellow color.

very nice.. I tried out a mission (Finland 1941)... very nice... missed some more airplanes... enemy 4xHurricane and me with 2 more I-16 was a tad "empty" on such a large map as the Finnish Gulf... long was to fly (from the eastern Soviet island to Kotka) .. the time to complete the mission is streamlined.. I didn't have much time to spare when I landed...

So a bit more time and more objects both in air in on ground (sea)

Would be nice to see some traulers or similar coasting along the Finnish Coastline.

Otherwise.. very nice!

@orheim, m8, this is only a beta test server, after testing there will be a 32 slot 102nd_COOP_ded online with this version of DCS so you can get any level of density regarding objects http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for the testing, and congratulation to your Order of the Red Banner award http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I personally don't favour externals on, but for the tests I enabled them so that we can check whether DCG was able to generate the missions correctly (number of planes etc). Besides, sometimes the campaign generators can set us up on long and completetely uneventful missions (CAP), where people might feel without the external views that nothing is happening at all due to a faulty mission.

The current DCG density is next to the lowest possible level, so I am quite certain that a more powerful server can populate the maps to very high density ship and column traffic.

BTW, I have one question to anyone with better DCG knowledge - what happens when someone doesn't fly in one missions? Will his statistics get erased, or will they stay as is? I realized that getting killed erases all statistics and awards, it's like starting a new life from the beginning. I hope this isn't the case, when someone misses one or more missions in the campaign.

EDIT: The test server has closed now, thanks for those flying on it.

Rnzoli... no, the stats do not get erased if a guy does not fly.

My squadron uses watchdirectory, a custom bat file, and DCG to keep our group tally on the website.
check out 214th.com/sheep and head to the ops shed.
After each DCG campaign mission is flown.. watchdirectory notices the debriefing.txt change, runs the bat file which copies the dcg log files into text files, and then uploads them to the website.

If you check the squadron.dat link..it shows each human pilot, how many sorties they have flown in the campaign etc etc.
