Oh dear, bit of a lazy lot around here, huh? (thanks to the bumpers, anyway)

* tap tap * hello, is this thing on?

Maybe Korea isn't the only country where there are no books on WW2 aircraft. Somebody who isn't in darkest Congo or Afghanistan please swivel your chair around and open a book.
It can be your little contribution to the IL-2 community.

I still need info on Mistel, IARs, Spitfires, and Advantages/Disadvantages.

Thanks in anticipation http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Bump my way up through the spam back to the top.

Anybody? Hello?

489 views and nobody has any info on the Mistel, or the AEP spitfires? What a sad bunch http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Sorry Hardball, love the Viewer but I can't answer your questions. So here's a bump as it's the best I can do.
Cheers!

Hardball Sir!

Should have the infomation for you by Tuesday your time about the Mistel and also about Spit's. I've got to look at about 200 books to find the Mistel as I'm sure I've got two mags that had info about Mistel ops, and also performance figures. As for the Spit's, I will quote from "Spitfire, The history" by Eric B. Morgan and Edward Shacklady. 650 pages about the Spitfire series and it's the bible on Spitfires. If its not in this book then it's not true.

Hope that will help you out?

Nick

It causes the thread to get 'bumped' up to the top of the first page so that it doesn't get lost or ignored amongst all the spam.

Don't worry, everyone was a noob once. I bet 50 other people will be relieved to read this post, 'coz they were wondering what a 'bump' was, but were too scared to ask http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

feel free to ask your questions in the forum there, those guys are really good, and they have tons of sources. but their knowledge is limited to luftwaffe mostly.
you can post in english, most there will understand it, if not i can translate http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks DeBaer.534: I'm not registered there, so maybe you could do me a favour and ask them some questions about the Mistel for me. Capt.England has provided me with the most important info, but I still need a few details, namely:

Weight empty

Maximum speed at seal level and at altitude

Climb performance data
[/list]

Thanks in advance http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

IAR 81a: armament consisted of two 13.2mm Browning FNs and four 7.92mm Browning FNs. Bomb load: One 225kg bomb in ventral cradle, two 50kg bombs, one under each wing.

IAR 81c: armament consisted of two 20mm MG151/20s and two 7.92mm Browning FNs (armament is incorrectly modeled in game); also, ventral bomb cradle was removed from all models used operationally (incorrectly modeled in game). Bomb load: two 50kg bombs, one under each wing.

Sources: Mark Axworthy's "Third Axis, Fourth Ally," and Dan Antoniu's "IAR 80 Fighter, the Histor of an Unknown Hero."

If U are still in need of info on 109 in foreign service I seem to have atleast one page with 5 colorprofiles and some explaining text and about the models.

Finland
Bulgaria
Croatia
Israel
Spain

For Finland U might want to check this for more detaled specs about 109 models:
http://www.sci.fi/~ambush/faf/fighters.html
scroll down to the profiles.
------------

Also specs on the spits wich seems accurate enough.
Its from a book "The encyclopedia of combat aircraft by Bill Gunston so it should be ok.

Well if u need it send me your E-mail in a private topic and I'll scan and send u the pages as images.
