http://i384.photobucket.com/albums/oo285/nelsonspangler/Avatars/CurtJurgens1-1.jpg Hello, I am a new forum member. My name is Nelson(first name). I have been a visitor for several months. I have learned quite a lot from all those who have contributed. This is the best website I have ever come across. The active members show a level of intelligence and maturity that is rare indeed. Everyone is so polite and helpful. It is an absolute pleasure to visit this forum. The moderators do an absolutely fantastic job. I feel I know each of you personally. I also appreciate all those contributors whose first language is not English. I have always been able to understand what you are attempting to say. I respect and admire the courage it takes to put yourself up for possible ridicule. Please continue to contribute.
I play stock Silent Hunter III patched to 1.4. I have played 2 complete careers to the end of the war. The last year of the war was terrible each time. I didn't think I would survive till the end of the war. I almost didn't on many occaisions. I currently have 3 separate careers ongoing. Paulhager's exploits against the Arctic convoys tempted me to try my luck against them in a Type IXC. Klcarroll's praises regarding the virtues of the Type IID got me to try a raid against Loch Ewe in my own IID. That turned out to be my best port raid ever. I will post my screenshots for this raid soon. I like the Type VIIC the best. The VIIB is a close second choice. The quick dive time is a real lifesaver time and again. I have had 5 100k plus patrols. My best was 125k. I have the screenshot documetation. I just haven't submitted them. I am normally an extremely cautious Kaleun. However, if I listen to my collection of German Military March music while I play, I then become an absolute "Hollywood German". I will then go hunting allied destroyers. I have had "killed" destroyers land on top of my U-boat numerous times. They were so close when I torpedoed them that their death momentum carried them over my U-boat before they sank.
I just opened an account at Photobucket and have been uploading some of my screenshots. I can get my avatar to upload into the body of my message. I just can't get it to load in the proper avatar location. I have tried many times.
Well this introduction of myself has become somewhat long, so I will end it here. I plan to enter the screenshot competition and I will post some screenshots very soon.

Welcome to the boards, Herr Kaleun!

I completely agree with you on the community here, best of what I've seen on any morum.

Have you tried GWX-2 yet? If you survived till the end of the war, this might give you some extra challenge. I myself was never able to get past 1943 with this super-mod. It's very realistic in some cases, very unrealistic in a few others, but a great one overall!

Just make sure your machine can handle it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Looking forward to your screenshots!
