View Full Version : Assassin's Creed for the Wii...?

So, E3 was a while ago but, I was watching clips from this year's conferences & came across the game line-up for the Nintendo Wii U (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-VqA_PupHs) & AC got mentioned (watch from around 1:25)
I remember when I first watched the conference & heard this, I was sceptical (probably still am & only because I love my PS3 - it gets way more attention than the Wii in our house...) & I want to know what others think http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

(Also (off-topic), since I'm mentioning E3, I feel obliged to share my favourite moment of this year's E3 with those who haven't already seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr-zyzYLJZg ---> I'm not an Xbox hater or anything, I actually watch Sony's & Microsoft's conferences each year & this was so funny http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

I really don't care. I lost faith in Nintendo years ago.

I lost my faith on nitendo after GameCube (which I own, but don't play it since I'm 6 years old)!

Haha - Everyone's losing faith with Nintendo?
It must be infectious, like I said: I haven't touched the Wii in ages http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I'm guessing alot of the fans would ignore it if AC does get the Wii release but, at the same time, it would introduce non-AC fans to the franchise...

I like Nintendo, and will definitely be buying the Wii U. I would be glad if they made an AC game for it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Who knows? If Nintendo stay true to that game line-up, AC might be getting it's Wii debut http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The funny thing is, Nintendo has become the very thing Nintendo fans were, and probably still are, accusing MS and Sony of.

Oh god, just no. Too many mainstream ps3/xbox games are being badly converted onto the wii...

I am kind of excited, seeing as the Wii U is stronger than the current generation of consoles and can be used for these more hardcore games. I might consider buying it, but I want a price first.

No cuz that will make me pay extra money to get the game since my sisters already have the Wii.

I just can't resist AC games.

Nobody besides me made an instant link to an animus? A way to be the perfect templar, while still flailing about like a fool? Seems like a waste, since I may only get this and the next Smash Bros. though.

Exactly what did you base that nonsense on? The Wii U still can't handle the kinds of graphics the Xbox 360 and PS3 can and it has to waste a lot of processing on computing complicated data from moving around the controllers and using the touchscreen.

I heard the Wii U will be able to produce HD graphics so I can see where GeneralTrumbo is coming from but I don't know other specifics so I don't really want to (or don't know how to) compare it to the PS3 or Xbox yet...

I thought that it was confirmed that the Wii U's graphics were going to trump the PS3's and Xbox's?

It made sense enough, seeing as it is a next-gen console.

I still can't picture playing multiplayer with that tablet as a controller though! ;D
Then again, new ideas like this in the games industry is how the industry evolves http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I thought it can only match the current graphics of the PS3 & Xbox
Like I said, I heard this or read it somewhere http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

No the WII U's graphics are better then the PS3's and X360's graphics but you'd except that as they were released 4-5 years ago. Anyway I'd love to play AC on the WII U as I'm still a big Nintendo fan and will be buying Skyward Sword at the end of the year hopefully Nintendo don't do what Microsoft did with Kinect and put things in the trailer that it can't really do.

See, that's where you're wrong. Just because it can render in HD doesn't mean the Wii U has good graphics. It still needs to be able to process graphical data quickly, efficiently and most importantly effectively, so that it can actually use that HD. All of these things are hindered by the console's need to process large amounts of data from its controllers.

Unless you stick in a crap load of RAM.

And have a good CPU

The video card would be presumably taken care of if it can run HD. The operating system is down too.

I may buy my PC's pre-built, but that doesn't mean that I don't upgrade them. I know how a PC works and what games require to run at a high graphical level.

Yeah, but we're talking about the Wii U here.

True! I mean, cities and stuff and graphics, they are awesome on PS3 and Xbox360 and the PC, but Wii, no! They are going to have to do a lot of compressing! A lot of texture tearing as well!

I think Nintendo is the same as ever, it's us the one who changed. We're aging and got tired of squashing mushrooms and turtles.
I think most of the people who los faith in nintendo (including me) it's because of that.

But that's fine kids need games as well, we got those good game when young so... i think it's fair for them to make those games.

Well, I think you're right in the sense that we don't like it, because we've changed, but maybe more importantly because Nintendo really hasn't changed at all. Almost all of their games these days are either remakes of remakes of remakes or games based off of kids' TV shows.

AC on the Wii? Not a chance. The graphic card and memory is no where near enough to support AC. If you've placed CoD on Wii, you'll notice the graphics have been dramatically cut down, and so has the whole thing. It's missing guns and about half the campeign. If AC went on Wii, it would stain the game's reputation.

I have to agree with Iskander on this one.
It's not the nintendo 'sucks' it's just..."we" are just not necessarily into happy-frolic games anymore.

Not saying it's a bad thing, I still have my wii and occasionally (well..rarely) I play now and then to play some Mario, Zelda (Hell yes!) and Resident Evil or something.

It's just because by now we reach the age that shanking people, shooting, blood n gore, sex drugs and violence are "fun".

Take it from my younger cousin, he literally grew up to playing nintendo games like the DS and gamecube etc because...well nintendo targets mostly kids. PS3 and Xbox tends to target teens and adults more so for Assasisn's creed is like a kid playing Zelda or mario, it's cool to "them".

Nintendo has pretty good 1st party games, like hell if I had $ I'd buy Zelda SKySword but since I rarely use my Wii it's like eh, plus I heard you need the Wii+ control or osmeting and I don't feel like investing in that when I can possibly get like a PS Card or maybe a Ps3 game.

now on topic: I heard AC would make it for Wii U or someting like that ( in was in a July-august edition of gameinformer I think?)

Now...if it makes on Wii (or WiiU) it's cool for those that don't have Ps3 or xbox but for large majority of us...unless it it featured a whole brand new Story (which probably not), im sure us PS3,xbox and PC players wouldn't have naything to fret about http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
