View Full Version : IL-2 1946 in the US?

Maybe I'me overlooking something, but I can't fine IL-2 1946 for sale in the US. I have no previous versions, but 1946 looks pretty cool (and very complete in terms of aircraft). Anybody know where it is for sale in the US? (Online or national chains retail stores?)
Thanks

When will I be able to walk into a store, CompUSA, Best buy, Gamestop, I'm not particular; and buy the game?

Why the hell is it like it's some big secret or something?

First of all let me say I have IL2, Forgotten Battles, AEP, and Pacific Fighters. And being that I am a loyal supporter of IL2 games I frankly find it disturbing that our market is being dicriminated against. Especially when I see that Ubisoft has no problem getting all their other titles out on our shelves.

What the hell is going on? What the hell are you thinking?

Some poor demented, damaged people such as I have a phobia for buying online or downloading games. Could you PLEASE distribute the game in the US in this lifetime?

Sorry for the intensity but I find this REALLY aggravating.

I got mine in 3 days from www.gogamer.com (http://www.gogamer.com). They are in California.

I placed the order ($49.90) with GOGAMER on Fri/1/19 with standard shipping ($2.59): the CD arrived on Mon/1/22!

Unintstalled merged FB+PF, installed 1946, ran 4.071m and started the game: it's so smooth. P51 is awsome.

Watch the BONUS DVD and feel so sorry for the programmers: they still used 17" & 19" old tubed monitors.

Well, so am I! Had this old 17" for three years now.

I'm waiting for the wide flat monitors prices to plummet further before I commit. The prices for them have lost huge chunks in recent months, and that's making me feel pretty good about getting a very good monitor for a pittance. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

So no one knows when. Can anyone explain the delay?

I can only find a game on VMF215 server these days. Not a bad place to play, but the same old thing gets a little stale. And unless there are some newbies on, I can hardly ever get a kill there. Though I imagine the regulars there appreciate my willingness to be a target drone for them.

Having more places to play (and aircraft to fly) might lead to my spending more time playing, and that is something I'm trying to avoid. Last fall I was seriously contemplating a high dollar CPU upgrade for my machine. But I realized the main reason for doing so would be this game. I spent the money on a gym membership instead.

My ambiguity towards this game has made me avoid ordering 1946. But if it were available on the shelf of my local Best Buy, I'd be hard pressed to not make an impulse purchase.

And after my experience with the PE-2 add on, there is no chance of my buying a download.

As i said about 3 months ago, US release will be anounced separately, if there is one.

My apologies if this has been explained elsewhere, but why wouldn't it be released in the U.S. officially? Everywhere else, but not here?

NWS Online would have had mine in B.C. Canada before New Year's Day but the dogsled broke a runner or something. Got it a few days into the New Year and it was worth the wait.

I'm waiting for someone to ask a reasonable price in the US. Play.com is selling it cheap in Europe while everyone is asking an arm and a leg in the US. Whats up?

I've supported this series monetarily in the past. I'd like a break this time. I have a mortgage.

Seriously why are the being so obtuse about this?

You have had no other news on this in 3 months?

I'm frustrated enough at this point that I'm seriously thinking of ash canning all my IL2 stuff. And just out of spite NEVER buying the new game which i see you do see fit to sell in the US as it is in many coming soon threads at many gmae retailers sites.

Has the US done something to deserve this very shoddy treatment.

I'm really sorry to be so damn cranky about this, but Ubisofts silence is starting to aggravate me.

I still use a 17" CRT and happy with it. Big TFTs suck, and LCDs are too dear, Ritchie Rich. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

This thread is beginning to read like a murder mystery. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Seems that everyone else has the option of either downloading, mail order, or brick-and-mortar. Except the States...

Ubi, if we have to wait to walk into a retailer and pick up a copy, fine. No worries. We'll wait. However, this is the first time I can recall that a game has already been available on the shelves everywhere else in the world except here, and not given any explination on when - or even "IF" - that option would be available here. The best we have is Steve's replies in this thread, and though I, for one, appreciate his replies, it seems that he's just as uncertain as the rest of us.

Yes, we could also purchase a download, or go to "GoGamer", but many prefer the visceral option of walking up to the shelf and grabbing the box. Not to mention that the ever-present risks of exchanging sensitive financial information online compells many to keep those sorts of transactions to a minimum. Frankly, thanks to that Boontybox fiasco, I will never download another product distributed by Ubi. Period.

I'm at Fry's electronics nearly every day. It would be nice to walk in one day and see 1946 stacked neatly on the "eye level" shelf. I - and many others, no doubt - would snatch it up without hesitation.

Talk to us, man.

It is available for pre-order on the US site now. Expected ship date 13 March...

Is it too much to ask for an official reply?

At an official Forum?

Don't you people even read your own forums?

Canada which is literally one step away from the US in many locations has the game.

I fail to understand this.

I'm more than willing to shell out for '46 if I can pick it up from a local retailer... It just seems a bit convoluted to have to pay a premium to either import it myself or pay a Cdn. retailer who had to import it. Surely Ubisoft could release it here at some point in the not so distant future.

One of the great hallmarks of the US is supposed to be our "Can Do" attitude

If Ubi doesn't sell it at the local shop right now, "can do" says you can get it! I still feel deep down that Ubi won't ignore the US, but I wanted '46 ASAP!

Since I am a "Can Do" American, I went and got the ******* thing! And I got it for a Canadian friend, too! Go get your copy, America! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif Ding Hao!

The Walmart mentioned was in Canada. Go Gamer ships from California. I got my game in 2 days after it being available. I think the price mentioned above might have been Canadian and not US dollars?

I got mine at a Wal-Mart in Canada. Strange thing about the version in canada is it's not an imported copy of the australian or european versions. It has bilingual packaging printed in canada with the canadian ubisoft website printed on the DvD. It also has just the game DvD not the bonus-behind-the-scenes one, so it seems to be cheaper.

Very peculiar how they release it so quietly in Canada and not the US.
