It's been quite the experiance living here in Japan. Met a lot of great folks and learned a bit about an ancient and interesting culture. I can't cliam to have really enjoyed the work, but the fact that I was here helped make it worth it. I was able to meet a good friend who helped me start building my own computers. One of the first things I looked for when it was built was a flightsim. I shortly found IL2, and I haven't really looked back since.

I'm also leaving here far richer than when I arrived for far more than those reasons above. I met my wife http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif here, a Thai going to university in Tokyo and now we have a wonderful little boy too; http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif he'll be 8 months old in a few days. I'll have to shut down soon so I can get my PC out in the first shipment, but I wanted to say what a great time I've had in Japan. If you ever get a chance, it's well worth the visit. Take care all, I'll see you in the virtual skies agian in about a month. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Take care and

Kiotsukete kudasai, Cajun!
I really appreciate your help with getting me set up with this sim and the tips you gave me on when I was starting out. Whether my wife appreciates it quite so much is another matter.
Happy travels and I hope your new assignment works out well for you.

Did you ever check out that Zero in Tokyo?

Yeah, almost forgot. I'm moving to the Little Rock, AR area. Thanks for the kind words, almost feels like starting a new life. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

@Fabianfred: You're welcome,We're going to visit her folks in Banluang, Nan. Last time we flew in to Chiang Mai, but this time I suspect we're renting a van from Bangkok. And if I can get ADSL in CM, I would consider retiring there. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

@FSM: Kiotsukete yourself. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif I did go to the Yasukuni Shrine. Some pretty cool stuff, but they only let you take pics in the lobby. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

@Pirsch: The skies have been safe for awhile, I'm woefully out of practice. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Not that they were that dangerous before, anyway. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

@berko: The Sturmovik Essentials (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=23110283&m=51910959) link has a plethora of good info. Most online players use HyberLobby, a free client software to find games and make friends. Also checkout Airwarfare.com, either in the Link or by clicking my sig pic. Under FB there is lots of info and tips on how to fly, fight and survive. I recommend Bearcat's Practice Tips (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/8901086932) if you're new to combat flightsims. Many forum members would be happy to answer any specific questions you might have. Welcome to IL2, good luck and

@FF - You live in a place called "Fang"? Wicked.
By the way, I recently noticed your post from months back about guys with Asian wives having a big smile or something - I agree. I know when I'm ahead of the game.
