Just like the 190's she is to be learnt,I like flyin her cause it takes thought.Kinda like driving a big A$$ cadilliac from the 70's.But just like the 38 It is a challenge.

especially the cockpit section, remind me of some kind of sci-fi space pod

Loved it since I 1st saw one. My uncle Eugene was navy, as was my dad and 2 other uncles.

He took me to get my 1st model. He planned to help me as I was to little.

He pointed out a F4F, I said I like this one, pointing at a 339th G model.

He proceeded to show me a Curtiss Helldiver.

I went back to the P-38.

He tried to get me intrested in a Corsair by telling me the Japanese called it Whistleing Death.

I wanted to know what they called the Lighting.

That night we put together a model of Cap. Thomas G. Lanphier Jr. one of the fellows who brought down Yamamoto.

Man , I actually got a little choked thinking about that. Wish I still had that but it became a firecracker target in later years.

Well, since I like moving mud in mine a whole tree full of rockets suits me fine. Not 6, nor 8 but ahhhhhh say it slow and savor twwweeelllllvvveeeeeeee.
Damned pills, lolololol say 10 instead.... that does come after 8 right?

i love to fly the P-38 Lightning

its just so different to most others , it has a character of its own

i find all in all that its a match for any fighter in the game. jets not counting. and the fact that you can fly on 1 engine if the other is hit helps more than anything.the only thing i would have done differnt was mount 50s between the engines and the cocpit if thay would have fit instead of in the nose then mount 2 20s in the nose
