Been adding some B-24 skins to my Defence of the Reich campaign and have been reminded of the strange beauty of this machine.

I suppose it doesn't have the smooth, flowing good looks of it's more glamorous sister, the B-17, but this plane has a character of its own.

All skins by JaRink.

The shot of the 109 passing by the tail of B-24 is great. The tailgunner must've been asleep though.

Looks like I need to update my generic B-24 skins! I think those skins were done with my old template.

Well, if you're offerin'...

Yeah, the tailgunner does seem to have been a bit distracted. In his defence, there were about 20 fighters attacking the formation at this time.

Some good (and some awful)pictures of real Liberators in action.
WW2 Libs in battle (http://users.rlc.net/catfish/liberatorcrew/06_B-24/USAF%2520Museum/Flak%2520hit-wing.jpg&imgrefu)

This one shows something missing from the game.

Looking forward to it. been collecting HUGE numbers of WWII pics lately. I only have about 10 Liberators.

The skins are tasty.
I love the small details like the oil stains on the upper wings.

Okay, lets try that again.
JaRink - you've probably got these already. You're right - there really are very few pics around. Last night I must have found most already as I saw lots of repeats today.

Here's one shot that shows the size of these things.

Okay, this link just wouldn't work so I grabbed the picture. It's from http://www.dfcommand.com/ but I can't link directly to the picture.

Big thanks to both Jarink & FlatSpinMan.

Love the pics & the sites.

There are 16 Lib pics here: http://ww2db.com/photo.php?sou...=A&foreigntype_id=32 (http://ww2db.com/photo.php?source=all&color=all&list=search&foreigntype=A&foreigntype_id=32)
Including a really nice plan-view of one.

OK, just found this site. Has several interesting pics. Including one of a camouflaged B-18 launching a pigeon. Yes, you read that right.

I have been stuffing my hard drive with pictures from this site.
They even have a few B-32 Dominator photos. Not someting you see every day.

Look closely at the belly turret. I can't tell if the ball is retracted or if it was removed and replaced by a simple hand-held twin gun installation (which was a common practice in the Pacific).

JaRink - that is quite some site you linked to. Enormous!
And thanks for pointing out the unusual belly guns. Just from a quick look I'd agree with the statement about the turret being removed. That'd save a hell of a lot of weight. Not lots of fighter opposition then, I suppose.

Launching pigeons from a bomber? That probably made more sense at the time, I'm guessing.
