Hello,

of course not. Don't expect human beeings running and jumping like the video game figurers. But i still think it is impressive! Some examples. Enjoy!

All those guys have my full respect!

Ah...my perfect thread http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif

I have been training for 7 years now. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was actually my first parkour influence. Assassin's Creed and Mirror's Edge continued the trend of solidifying my love for parkour in video games.

Here are some of my videos:

Carpe Diem (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2huXE9Ge2I)

Kaleidoscope (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx2PdbpNlzI)

Real Life Mirror's Edge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOio4t08boc)

Wrong wrong wrong, completely F'in wrong!
Mirrors edge IS parkour.
Parkour being getting from one point to another in the quickest and most efficient way.
Free-running being the art of movement, basically getting from one point to another in the faanciest way possible, or if you want the really dumbed down version, Parkour with flips.

Btw, nice vids swift.

As stated by the above poster, parkour is about efficiency and honing body and mind, as well as fluid movement. Free-running is not just about flips however. It is parkour but with the freedom to add what you want, such as gymnastics or, as Sebatien Foucan - founder of free running - suggested, break dancing.
I didn't really like Mirror's Edge. The parkour was good but you couldn't just go parkoring, which really bugged me. When I have money I'm gonna buy Brink cos you can just run around.
Nice vids by the way Swift http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I know, i was giving a 'dumbed down' explaination, i mean flips can be used in parkour, there are cases when that IS the most efficient movement.

Thanks for the comments guys ;D

Despite the ongoing battle of Parkour vs. Free Running, I always practice with the marriage of both in mind. It's all one practice to me, under the name of Parkour & Free Running. Or PKFR. Freedom and Efficiency.

Well you can't really be a good free-runner without aso being a good traceur, but yeah both are just as good.

Swift your vids are awesome as ever, can'y wait for more http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

After this backpacking trip I'm gonna need to start working out more to get better at Parkour. Not many places to do it where I am at the moment. But when it comes time to head back to Buffalo hopefully I can get more practice http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Makes me sort of wish I lived in a city - no places to free run in the suburbs.

Also I think AC devs should take note of videos like these. I'm not expecting anything major for ACR but for AC3 I'd really like to see a revamp of the movement system.

Same here! I have to walk pretty far so that I can free run http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif but until I move to a city, I'll just have to practice on what I can. The guy from the video is lucky enough to live in Europe. Hopefully, I can record myself soon and then I'll put some videos up of me free running!

^Ubisoft should look into this academy for stunt people when they decide to make their AC movie in the future. Would be a perfect place to hold auditions and would be great to see what these guys can do in an urban environment.

freerunning shouldn't be in AC games, but they should improve on the parkour. adding kongs, double kongs, monkeys, dashs (which could be used to attack someone too). freerunning would only lead to Ezio or the new assassin's death haha.

It would be a bit much to have all that, afterall this isn't a parkour game. All that's needed is a simple speed vault for clearing fences, boxes, tables, etc.

I've wanted to start parkour for a while but I lie in a tiny village and the most parkour ready place is the playground, which doesn't even has a place to do a precision, never mind anything else.

So i hate free-run and i love parkour xD

But what do u think about the slowmotion in the videos? I think it makes it less nice :S

well yea i get this isn't really a complete parkour game but one of it's main focuses is parkour (movement). And well speed vaults are not that great for long distance vaults, kongs are best. it allows you to get over long distances without stopping. and a dash well would be slower then a speed vault in that case u are correct, but it could be used to kick a guard in the chest while u are vaulting.

I've started parkour last summer in august and i just started to do kongs and i know (for me at least) it's faster and keeps me moving.
