I just have to ask this;

Are there any servers out there without the d@mn Spitfires, F4UFO, KI-84`s?

It seems that onwhine it is nothing now but Air Quake! The few servers that USED to have Mission Objects are just now CS-in-the-Air. Yes, I have tried Co-ops, but they are so full you can`t get a spot. Even Greater Green seems to have these planes almost every mission now. It is getting to the point, that when I am shot down by one of these "planes", I am no longer impressed.

PLEASE, PLEASE, someone give me the name of a good NON-UFO server!!!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif
Thank you for your time and effort.

Hi,

It's a 'faster than real time' online war where you basically play co-ops where there is no AI. Importantly, the success (or failure) of your mission can have implications for subsequent ones.

You will meet your enemy, most of the time, at something approaching "squadron" strength and there are few UFO planes employed. i.e. it's far more realistic than any DF situation.

Try it. It's an eye opener.

Cheers,
Norris

Hey Norris,

What do you mean, 'faster than real time'? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

UK-Dedicated for those of us who want slightly more relaxed difficulty (externals on) but with complex and realistic scenarios and plane matchups.

GreaterGreen and f16 are good although these planes show up on some maps.

Only regret for me is that nowadays there are many big maps and some use lots of groundtargets and many ships with guns set to high RoF(Rate of fire) wich even brings fast systems to their knees when the servers are full (50+).

On these maps people get kicked all the time and not only the ones with Low-end systems.
But on the right size maps with correct number of objects and RoF set lower, even a low-end system manage well on a full server so the online part and code seem vastly improved in PF.

Hi,

Well, some of the online wars run for many months but their content encompass a longer time period than this. i.e. the virtual war must be progressing faster than real time http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

wrt UK-Dedicated, they do have a large selection of maps which are mostly historical with accurate plane sets and an emphasis on teamwork and putting the objective first. It's always full so they must be doing something right http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Norris

If you want something a bit more 'realistic' than the usual, try Forgotten Skies. Check it out anyway, it can't hurt http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
