Can somebody please tell me why the ki-43 gunsight is black. It's like there is a lense cover over the device. I hit shift F1 and my whole screen is filled with black with visible concentric circles in the black area but I can't see through the gunsight which means all I see is a black circle in the gunsight in the cockpit when I'm behind somebody. How the devil do I see through the thing. If I hit ctrl f1 i get the no cockpit view and a sight i can see through. I wanna be in the cockpit, waaahhhhh.

It's a lense cover. IIRC the command to open it is Toggle Reticule Dimmer, no clue if it is assigned to any key by default.

Yup, CTRL D did the trick although the manual says it applies to German aircraft. I tried it and sure enuff, that lense cover came right off

Now that you've got the lens cap off, try looking through the sighting tube... Toggle Gunsight (Shift F1).

Works with the F2A2 and the SBD-3, among others.

And just for fun, try the Toggle Mirrors Show/Hide key while careening down the runway.
