I have try this in IL2 but I think it's could be the same also for IL2FB;

I'm looking for a better (wide) view during normfly with easy look to the gauges, so... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I have open with notepad "users" folder and I have changed in "default" file from "fov90" to "fov120".

The same in the "settings" file inside my piot name folder, as...
Delete=fov30
End=fov70
PageDown=fov120

It's works !! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I try as fov=140 and fov=180 but it's seems that angle of view not change, http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gifdo you know what is the largest angle of view avaible and if exixt others tips about this ? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

fov90 is wide enough for take off and landing (cockpit on of course) for me. I fly in fov70.

Anything wider than fov90 and you're flying through a fishbowl.

Open Users folder (C\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL2 Sturmovik\Users), look at <Default> conf.ini, search:

End=fov70 it's the normal view
PageDown=fov90 il's the large view
Delete=fov30 it's the gunsight view

change the view (or views) as you want, save and exit.
Repeat in <Settings> conf.ini (you must to find it inside your pilot name)

In IL2FB there are 3 default settings but if you looking at control commands (in the game launched) you can try others settings http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

hi,
a better wide view without higher virtual pilots view is the half way..!
we need a feature to adjust pilots hight of seat and flexible revi or gyroscope settings in hight and zoom in compare to more real view at this pc-sim.
The running 'camera view system' of the game engine in FBi is an old 'buggy' programmed system(since IL-2) for sims with few types of wardbirs and not able to fix a lot of 'gnomish' views in different cockpits of planes even in some old planes and the new addons by Maddox and third party designers.

I guess the developer has no interest to reprogram and redesign more than some few features...

I'm very interest if the developer is able to advanced programming features in the future at BoB..

i fly in 1600x1000 (yes , bit strange res. btw , but i have a 16x10 display )

and in il2 the speedbar/map and some special effects are working great , but in fb I get a 4:3 box boundary to place the map and the speedbar iss well away from the left corner of the screen , I think they changed a lot in FBs display system , unfortunately for me now http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

starfighter, it's not possible or rather practical to change this in current FB because most planes would require a major overhaul to do so and an incredible amount of resources.

However, BoB will allow non-fixed viewing positions according to Oleg. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

hi,
yes ..two years waste of time by the developer.

Anyway: maybe there is a chance in the future by third party to redesign and fix a lot of forward and surround virtual cockpit and gunsight views. In the event of new Addons to this important feature and by update old and some more new warbirds.

Hope the developer will agree to import new cockpit designs(or fix) and a new and better camera view system for FB in the future.

meantime some few fixes should be possible by the developer at the running system.
for example:
'throw away some overframed cockpit struts and bars' and some little adjustment of virtual hight of pilots combat view (as Me 262/but more adapt to the type of plane/in the past).

my two cents to this stolidly developer...
