Yeah, it's 1C. Doesn't specify which sub-company, but with PF updates, and BoB WIP, it's very unlikely that this is 1C:Maddox in specific.

I like the screens very much.IL2 engine is a very good thing to use in other sims, especially that graphics aren`t the oldest and today`s hardware does more than handling it.

Would buy the game just to ride the Huey.

Ok...some common confusion here.

1C is not the creator of IL2. 1C is a Russian publishing house for computer games. Maddox Games made IL2 and had 1C publish IL-2 and the rest of the series in the CIS (former soviet states).

1C and UbiSoft are roughly the same thing except that UbiSoft operates in Europe, North America, Asia, and elsewhere.

So its not a new sim from the creators of IL2. Nonetheless, this is an interesting product and its good that you've brought our collective attentions to it. I can't help but wonder if Maddox games maybe played a small part in getting these guys up and running.

The game is being made by G5 Software, heres a little bit about it...

I'm looking forward to having a go on this game.

Wow looks pretty cool - I've been getting my helicopter fix with Vietnam Med+Evac http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif Its fun and flying on realistic is challenging at first but the graphics suck and the missions are limited and repetitive.

While this quote is accurate in general, in the case of the IL-2 it is not correct.

Maddox Games is a part of 1C. Appart from being a publisher, 1C also is a large Russian software developer.
I am not sure about the G5 Software, some time ago it was an independent developer, however, it may be, that they also joined the 1C holding, as it was with the MG few years ago.

Back to the "Whirlwind of Vietnam" game, it is not connected in any way to the MG or the IL-2 technology.

If it's helicopters you're after, how about the Lock-On based Black Shark. Should be released sometime in March.

I think I'm going to need a new graphics card.

Cheers,

RocketDog.

That statement was correct about IL2. 1C didn't make IL2. Maddox Games did, while being part of 1C.

Similarly, EA didn't make Wing Commander Prophect - Origin did.

Yeah, Unknown, tell me more. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Maddox Games is an integral part of the 1C. It's eploees work within 1C office and get salary from 1C accauntant, including Oleg.
They were an independent company, when they just started the game, but main part of it's development was done already after MG joined 1C. So, if you would say, "1C made the IL-2", it will be correct either. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

From other hand, there are independent developers, for whom 1C is just a publisher, like the Ubi is for the 1C. But Maddox Games is not one of them.

Think GM pre-80s. GM didn't make the '64 GTO. Pontiac did. Pontiac is owned by GM, but *GM* didn't make it.
