Make sure you get the IL2 1946 DVD version as it has everything and is what 99.9% of the online population plays. Just grab the free 4.08 and your good to go. Everyone plays on Hyperlobby which is also free of charge.

Download Hyperlobby here! (http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=8)

alright, I used to play Aces High II so I am very familiar with fighter combat.
Hopefully when I get this game I fit in alright.

Hit the Essentials thread in my sig and The Nugget's Guide. Welcome aboard. The sim is very demanding hardware wise... but unless you are using a 5 or 6 year old rig.. you should be able to run it.

Watch out...Aces High II is a "game." This is more like a "sim." There is quite a learning curve. You'll need to practice a fair bit before you hit anything online.

Cheers!

Do you think a Dell E310 with Windows XP will do fine with IL-2 46?

What are the specs of the E310 as I usually build my own pc? And I see you mentioned you are trying the demo, I must inform you that the IL2 demo is really nothing like the latest installment of the series. But if should give you a general idea. Buy the 46 DVD and if your an avid simmer, trust me you will not be disappointed.

it will likely run fine as Aces High II ran good on my computer.
