hello, just like the other discussion about perfect water for ATI, same file works for older G-force card, well at least creative 4800TI. if this is old news can you tell what jurinko means with water=1 and water=0? have he found a console or something?

here's a screen

Pardon me, but I have yet to read a detailed description of what to do.

I have
- downloaded Cat 4.7
- extracted files from exe
- found file called atioglxx.dl_

Do I simply rename it and place it...where?
(GF 4200)

skabbe - what did it look like before you used that file? What files did you install. Need more info.

Errrm, I'm sorry but the ATI opengl driver will NOT work with a nvidia card.

This post is a load of ****

What's a ****er anyway....

Try ForceShaders1x=1 (from 0) near bottom of Conf, if you haven`t already. It got rid of the annoying glassy effect on my TI4200.

Tried the Forcedshaders1x to 1 - no difference :

And here's a better example of pixelation (look at the sun reflected --> patterns ! yugh! UGLY)

What is your texture filter setting?

Also check your antialising and AF settings.

You will NOT GET RID OFF THE PIXELLATION.... I reported it as a possible fault to Oleg when PF came out and his Email Reply to me was I QUOTE

" Not a bug. Sorry, but it is method of implementation. " Oleg

Xiolablu3 this is not a bull*** post, so shut up, tho im not sure that the file did the trick. the settings is OpenGL, after that perfect landscape detail, directx 9c, latest nvida drives, and that file for ATI in the IL2 folder, nothing more...

while driving home from pa, i looked to port and saw the sun shimmering off the lake water like it does in pf..including 'bands' on the water from the sun. so oleg has got it very close. this was at 08:30 goin westbound

guys, what's cat 4.7, and where can I get it? Will it be of any help to my Nvidia GeForce FX 5200?
Hook me up! My water looks like a big blue blob. no texture at all, no way of knowing how close I am to swimming.
when I turn water up to 3, I get about 2-3 fps in perfect mode
I would LOVE to have water that looks like the first screenshot in this post at 40 FPS

Water=2 on a Ti4800

Same pixelation as the ATI guys have

I have a Ti4200 to. I had this problem to until I set the video image slider from 'performance'to 'balanced'or 'quality'.

I have a ti-4200 128mb card and I would never DREAM of kicking on perfect settings for the massive frame rate drop.

What resolution do you guys run the game at, and do you use anti-aliasing or anisotropic filters?

I find that my frames go straight in the toilet if I use even the slightest anti-aliasing or anisotropic filters.

=/

I play at the resolution just below 1600x1200x32.. right around 1280x960x32 or something like that.

Any tips, tricks, hints for us ole ti-4200 owners?

I have a P4 2.53gHz, 1.5gb of RD-RAM

why so high resolution? it takes more then it gives... the textures is not biger then 640*480 and so on...

Was trying to make things look nicer, and going with the higher resolutions got rid of a lot of the jaggies that I was getting without having to mess with anti-aliasing or anisotropic.

You think I'll get a similar quality of image and frame rate if I drop down my resolution and increase my antialiasing/anisotropic?

(Which is better?)

=/

I'm so tech stoopid.

If you got the latest Nvidia driver 61.77 got back to 52.76. On the read me file. It says that the 61.77 drivers are unstable and doesnt't render 3d water animation correctly.

but it works.... its not good as the real shaders with g6800 but its better...

and so... antialiasing is a bit faster, and a lot faster in games like doom... things is a bit clearer with high res, but cant trade that for better effects, i think. your call :|

YEAH ! YOU the MAN ! THAT helped...
got it on quality now and see http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif - well still a BIT pixelation but a lot less... THANKS !

ok This is the max my gfx card will give me :
http://members.home.nl/maxmhz/water2.jpg

This is the default okinawa QMB map with GOOD (well not in this one lol) weather and time 18:00 looking into the sun with default FOV settings and pausing game on start... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
pixelation is STILL a pattern (Around sun & reflected) very disturbing - should be fixed

Anyway - geForce Ti4800SE 128Mb - driver 50.50 i think (the ONLY one that works with ViVo lol)

-AND- the ati OpenGL driver WILL NOT EVER WORK with an nVidea card... sorry... (in config.ini - check under ah well... THESE...

[GLPROVIDER]
GL=Opengl32.dll

[GLPROVIDERS]
Open GL=Opengl32.dll
DirectX=dx8wrap.dll

sections... you'd have to name the file there and its the CONTENTS of the RAR archive http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
- file is called "atioglxx.dll" NOTE the .dll not the .rar haha http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
I promise - substitute the opengl32.dll for the nvidea with the atiolgxx.dll FOR THE ATI cards... and see your game crash to desktop before a loading screen :P

It's not that...

And anti-aliasing is THE fps hug (can easy quarter fps)... where do you get all that wisdom http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ...

"Image Quality" set to "Performance" instead of "Quality" with the same settings did this :
http://members.home.nl/maxmhz/water3.jpg

...now make me a song : "Talkin' 'bout pixelation" lol

... it's IMAGE QUALITY for nVidea http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif lol
... and Water = 2 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif and perfect settings, stencil on and setup.exe ah **** i'll look all of em up if necessary http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks again Redeye http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And thanks skabbe too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
