So I'm trying to learn the K-14 GS in the P-51. I have my keys mapped for it and am able to bring up the gyro/fixed sight. I then increase or deacrease my sight distance to make the piper the size of the enemy infront of me. Here's where I go wrong. I'm supposed to select the the type of a/c infront of me(ex. fw190, bf109). Nothing happens here. anyone know whats the prob here.

U need to bind keys to change the aircraft selection. and the sight distance relates to your convergance setting

chuck older did a good tutorial on www.il2flying.com (http://www.il2flying.com)

Keys for it are the Move Bombsite Left/Right for the a/c selction.

Here's how I use it:

1. Set your gun convergence. I believe, if you set it at somewhere between 130-175 meters, when you activate the K-14, the default range will be about the same (i.e the distance the sight is set for matches somewhere around 130-175 meters.) If you set convergence to 250 meters, then you may want to increase sight distance one click.

2. Assume you set convergence to 150 meters. As a result you do not increase or decrease sight distance because convergence and sight ditance are basically matched.

3. Take off - Spot a 109. Select the 109 from the plane selection list on the sight. Approach the 109. When the wingtips of the 109 touch the diamonds, you should be somewhere bewteen 130-175 meters away from and very close to convergence.

4. The sight will float around with any maneuvering. Try to keep it steady. Fire. You'll hit.

5. I use the dual sight option sometimes as it's nice to have the traditional sight as a fixed reference. Honestly, though, it occaisionally distracts me.
