Seems like I could save $50 by getting the Trak IR 4 instead of the 5, can anyone comment on the difference?

Here ya go...

Looks to me like TIR 5 will be more precise than TIR 4.

I just bought the TIR 5 Pro, but it's the first TIR system that I've had, so I can't compare them in real world use.

yeah, i read the comparison, just couldnt work out what the real performance difference would be. Anything is gonna be better than hat switch and snap views though!

Personally I would get TIR4 and save some money. I own TIR4 and I really can not see TIR5 being that much better. I have never used TIR5, just an educated guess. No matter which one you decide to purchase I am certain you will be 100% satisfied and wonder like the rest of us...how did you ever fly without it. Good luck with the purchase!

Heck, I use a track IR 3 with vector(not the pro either), and I cant imagine it being any more precise.

Still use a TrackIR2.. Might get the 5 soon, but I am in no hurry, either one you get will be a great product.

Yup, its like the guys say......You won't be disappointed regardless of which you choose. I have heard it said by some that the Trackir5 is "noticeably" more responsive, but in my opinion as a Trackir4 pro user with Trackclip pro (leds) I honestly don't see how the tracking could be any better. There is an extra FOV of a few inches, but set up correctly with a decent size monitor, the Trackir4 FOV is more than enough. There are no truly "revolutionary" features with the Trackir5 by way of comparison.

Whatever you get, I guarantee you'll be loving it.....any questions on set up people here will be more than happy to help you out mate. Enjoy! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I got TIR 5. Figured I spent close to $3000 for all the hardware on my flight sim setup (pc, speakers, mouse, HOTAS, Rudder pedals etc.) so whats $150 more for the most up to date TIR. But thats just me.

No matter what its an improvement over using a hatswitch or a mouse to look around.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I'm on a serious budget and shouldn't buy beer or Trak IR, but, well you know.... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
