Will you make it so that the wing root cannons on the A model fw's can be fired independently from the cowl mg? I fly A models mostly and would like to be able to control the wing root cannons seperately, like the outboard ones. Thanks for any consideration you will give this.

how about an options to remove the useless cowl mgs ? or removed outer wingguns without getting bombrack.

High Ground is not only more agreeable and salubrious, but more convenient from a military point of view; low ground is not only damp and unhealthy, but also disadvantageous for fighting.

I don't think the cowl MGs are useless. They can be a good final defensive weapon when cannon is out.

1. The wing root cannons and cowl machine guns were designed to be fired at the same time.

2. All 190 A-series aircraft had cowl machine guns.

I do agree, though, that it would be nice to be able to fly without outer wing cannons and that frickin' bomb rack. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We heard that many times, about linked cowl and root guns, problem is that flashes when firing(from cowl) obstruct view, if the flashes were this big in rl, they would make field modification for excluding cowl guns, unfortunately some things in game folow facts from rl, others are beeing ignored (not in favor of players). Will these ridiculous arcade flashes ever get fixed, nobody knows, but its obvious that FW series is ignored from changing. Like that narrow view is not enough. Bomb rack question was here for ages, with no results.

Incorrect

MGs could be turned off by fuse switch on the right side of the cockpit. You could do any combination of gun groupings.

Some Bomber attack groups had cowl guns removed to safe weight.

Thats was annouced on original il2 series no change yet. Something of the 3d model would have need changing well not the only part on the 3d model that needs rework .)

That may be true, but how common was that in the field? Any pilot recollections, Geschwader reports, etc., to back your statement up?

Again, proof? Which variants, fronts, time periods, units?

"I don't think the cowl MGs are useless. They can be a good final defensive weapon when cannon is out."

yeah well that depends at which plane you are firing at.
you can down several Yaks and Polykarpovs with the Mg 17 (remember that with the corrected DM the I-16 is one of the least tough bird in the game now and that the Yaks often leak fuel til they are out of it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
but you could empty all your MG magazines on a single Lagg3 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif unless you hit the pilots head

neither the mg17 nor the mg131 are useless.
you can even down il2s with them if you use them correctly.
also its true you could fire the guns in any combo. its a switch in the cockpit, so why do you want a proof it was used?

And there is a variant in game already (one of the U# I forget which) that has cowl MGs removed (as well as outer wing cannon, of course it has a bomb rack as it should, being a bomber variant).

Maybe he wants some chart of statistic about how many pilots used the switch in their plane, i only want to know where is the switch?
Enough with that flashes!
