I'd rank Port of Spain and its environs as best. There are some tankers in port and tankers regularly spawn and sail through the strait into the open sea. It's an ideal ambush point.

If you want to get lots of tonnage, that's the place to go ... in 1942. The occasional escort will show up, as will PBY's. When you have good weather you should be able to shell the tankers in port at long range (this ***umes a Type IX), submerge, and then move into ambush position. I wouldn't waste torpedoes on those tankers ...

i was seacheing around gibraltar for a convoj to/from Alexandria only found small merchants and a single tanker http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

i decided to sneak closer to gibraltar as evening approced. But then suddenly 3 or 4 destroyers comes towards me and i have to dive and sneak away with 3 knots it took a looooooong time http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

so stay away from gibraltar!!!

Scapa Flow is hard to get into later in the war. Gibraltar doesn't have much shipping going on in that area, just a lot of warships. Never been to New York so I can't say. Neither have I been to Murmansk or Fifth of Forth.

Loch Ewe is good though, not on the list though.
