Unfortunately, this will be the first year in several that I'm not going to be there, bummer! My wifes family lives 2hrs south of Oshkosh. Each year we fly out from San Diego and visit them, rent an RV and stay the week up at AirVenture. If I lived as close as you I'd never miss that airshow and probably practically live at that museum.

Just the sheer number of WW2 fighters and bombers (and the pilots and crews that flew them!), and the m***ive formations roaring overhead, will blow your mind! If your an aviation nut (like most of us are here), do yourself a favor and go to AirVenture at least once in your lifetime, you will never forget it!

More than a couple of us TX Squadron folks supposed to be going. Would love to meet anyone from the community... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

For me as well as my sons and a few other friends, it's a pilgrimage every year. There's simply nothing like it.....nothing.

As TX-Rahman states, it would be great to meet other IL-2 folks there.

As the time gets closer, perhaps we can coordinate something. That would be one element of it that could make it even better than it already is!!

I went to college in Oshkosh and worked as an intern at EAA the past 2 summers, so I will be there this summer!

Get someone a huge IL2 Forgotten Battles banner @ put him/her in the center of the crowds. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Ya know, the IL-2 banner mentioned above makes me think about an interesting point that I've often wondered about.....IL-2 demos at Oshkosh.

Seems most events of this sort always have flight sims set up somewhere, but I have yet to ever see IL-2 at any of them.

Considering the huge draw to the Warbirds and that entire area, I would think IL-2 would be a huge success and a great way to introduce the game to the perfect target audience. Last year (I think it was...) Best Buy had a display area featuring CFS: why not IL-2?

I'd willingly participate and I'm sure others would as well.

Berndt, (or others) not trying to put you on the spot here, but since you've worked as an intern there, do you have any idea what it would take for that to happen? Any ideas?
