View Full Version : How many of you are ACTUAL Pilot in REAL LIFE?

I'm just wondering, how many of you are actual pilot? (or aircrews).

For my self, I was a pilot-trainee for the 19 Wing Maritime Patrol Unit (CFB Comox) for the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Although it wasn't for long (1996~97), I was on CP-140 Aurora for Anti-sub exercise before my units were departed to the Former Yugoslavia region. I ended up going to the University of British Columbia instead and majored in business.

I never completed the training program. For some reason, I did not want limit myself, and my career, to a cockpit of an aircraft.

I left my pilot trainee badge behind and never looked back...at least until IL-2 came along... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
(I have to admit, I really miss flying though...sometimes I wonder, what could it have been if I stayed with the force. Should have joined the US Navy instead...hehe)

I fly prop planes and gliders; My favorite mount would be an ASW-20 fully ballasted on a violent April thermal day.

How can you say that?! There are no arguments on this forum. Period. For sure. And in any case, your comment is way over modelled. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

why do people get offended when someone brings a topic up again on their own thread?

You don't HAVE to "get involved" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Who's offended? It wouldn't take much searching to find the same question in previous threads. It's only good manners dont you think? Besides, my reply was very much tougue in cheek.

I wouldn't join any club that would have ME as member!

JJ is a a 41 post forum member. Go easy, ok?

I'm a part-time, poor, hardly ever can afford to fly, when I have the money I have no time, student-pilot. I teach music for a living, not fly . . . but I love flying more than driving a car http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

That 41 posts were pure trollish.

And there is something wrong about a Korean, all-girl squad? Is the problem women, or Korea? The troll part I can understand, but not the bigotry.

I'm Korean.
First, there is nothing like Koran Girls Only squad.
Second, he attached avatar picture of some Asian pu*sy, definitely not Korean.
Third, he has posted only fishing posts so far.
Won't you care if you're Korean? Am I nationalist? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well, I'm new to the forum mysef, so I'll respond.

I'm a private pilot, with an instrument rating. I've got about 500 hours total time. Most of my flying has been in Cessnas (152, 172, 182) and Pipers (Archers and Warriors), and I've got a few hours in other aircraft. The most fun I've had was doing acrobatics in a Grob Bavarian...

Still a pilot http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

The thing I find odd in this thread are the number of people who bother to follow it and post to complain. It might be that these people also need the government to remove indecency from the airwaves so that they aren't subjected to what they would have to tune in for. They will, no doubt (not the band), complain about this sentiment. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

TooCool34,

My apologies, I think that we may have a language/communication problem. I respect women. I respect Korea, and all sovereign nations. My mistake, I totally must have misunderstood your post.

Wonder of how a thread evolves in topics.

Anyways, I put up "Korean Girls Squad" just as a hoax, and the picture was of a Korean model.

Having said that, I just wanted to know how many REAL pilots are here.

Good to see that there are a few.

Currently, I am thinking about rejoining the Canadian Patrol unit, flying with 19 Wing at Comox again as a Reserve.

Anyways, if you're not a real pilot, try to be one if you can. It's worth it.
