Has anyone had this problem. All the F4F WildCat's while flying does not due the following: lower gear, lower flaps, lower tailhook, open canopy. Guns fire, bombs drop and you can fly around fine.

Any suggestions on why?

Landing gear on the Wildcat is like the Russian I-16. Its a manual crank system. You need to assign controls for manual raising and lowering of the landing gear (this can be helpful on automatic geared aircraft like the Hellcat and most other types if the hydraulics are out).

Flaps on the Wildcat use a vacum system to prevent their deployment at speeds that may damage the flaps. I forget the speed but its around 250 kph IAS.

The others I'm unsure about.

gear: remember, f4f has manual gear, go to controls and assign a key, "shift g" and "ctrl g" for up and down are good. Have to hit them about 40 times and the gear wil be fully up or down,

flaps: not sure about this one, though I assume it was an accurate model of the aircraft, the flaps may have been automatically left up above certain speeds to prevent damage, since they are fine below around 180mph

lower tailhook: http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif is it correctly assigned? should be H by default.

well some of those functions you need to assign a key under controls. The wildcat has manual gear for raise and lower so you must assign a key for both...and then push many many times. I believe canopy and tailhook also require you to map a key under controls as well. Flaps should work outa the box though, V to lower a notch and F to raise a notch

Cheers
