Yes.
4 versions of it.

You can in "IL-2 1946."

The Me-262 was made flyable in "IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles" as two variants, as I recall. The 1946 DVD includes all of the content from Forgotten Battles, plus it adds a v-tailed version of the Me262 to the list.

There's also the He-162, Me-163, Ta-183, Go-223, Ar-234... any other German jets I'm missing? Also the YP-80, Yak-15, La-15, LaGG-3RD (jet version of LaGG-3), MiG-9... I'm sure I've missed some somewhere...

So yeah, there's a lot of jets.

Be sure to get the "Il-2 Sturmovik: 1946" DVD-ROM, it's the one that contains the entire series (except for one patch).

Go-229 used to own anything in game..........
But I'd say that nowadays it's the P-80........ just you must watch the throttle very carefully, no sudden moves or engine's on fire.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Me-163 and Ohka (rocket fighters/bombs) excluded http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The flying wing is, to the best of my knowledge, the only aircraft which can land inverted.

do the engines start on fire like the 262 when you leave them on 100% for too long?

I've done it. Don't eject afterwards...

I think I have a track but it would take, literally, forever to find it...

If you overstress their endurance they will just cut ( with a lot of luck you'll be able to restart them) - it becomes nasty when you overrev the engine by moving the throttle to quickly; the blades will say "see ya" and the engine nacelle catches fire....
Same for the flying wing and the He 162 A and Ar 234.
All others use Heinkel Hirth engines wich are much more reliable and resistant.

i see, i left the throttle way up and it the port engine cut and the starboard caught on fire!
i was like holy **** this sucks

To long for a Jumo http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif
Try to stay at 600 km/h and the engines won't overheat anymore.

I am still curious why the HG2 model (in-game) allows throttling to 110% while the 1a model (in-game) only allows 100%? They both use 004B engines.

BTW, how do you guys rate (in game only) the 1a vs the HG2?

I like the 1a better. The HG2 seems to have lousy elevator control.

DKoor

Lousy brick elevator is a Messerschmitt WW2 trademark.
In game.
So this ain't no surprise.
If true.

Doing some forum digging through old posts I actually found a thread from about 2005 where HAYATEACE was talking about flying the ME262 online.

Color me shocked!
