"The story behind this Jag is that it's was a RAF exchange pilot that flew the Jag this low. I think there were Hunters doing it as well. In doing so he took the roof off of a car. Not sure of any more specific details, but I read it in a book which featured this and many other pics of the incident". Actually that is incorrect. The Jaguar in question was flown by a Royal Omani AF pilot. The pilot was test flying the Jaguar in front of ROAF officials and Qaboos ibn Sa´id Al Sa´id Sultan of Oman.

The Jaguar's having been received on a second batch of MLU's with upgraded avionics and 1st gen TERPROM from BAe systems.

The Hunters were also at the display and were flown low by the same Omani Pilot.

Any RAF pilot pulling a stunt like that with a multi million pound piece of kit would be grounded pending a discharge for negligence.
