Nice review.... however.......
I think Shft_E's VAC (http://www.dwvac.com/), which stands for Voice Activated Command is just as usefull... and it is free, well almost.. it is shareware.. but still not as pricey as the Edimensional thing. Drop a little donation and register it and you have support and upgrades for the life of the product.. and it really does work well. I would much rather use a community made piece of software from someone that I can email and get a personal response from than some overpriced thing that does the same thing. Vac isnt as pretty.. but it does the job very very well.

VAC is a great product.
It freed my hands up greatly.
no more removing my hands from controls in a dogfight, just to search for a key in a darkened room.

Agreed VAC is the way to go.
Like mentioned above, VAC isn't pretty but we all know that pretty spells pc resources that aren't being used by the sim http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Not to mention Shift_E is the man, he obviously belives in cutomer support that shows by his personal emails, unlike the "do not respond" automated emails from most customer support, his support is the way it should be! He truly cares about the customer http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Makes me wonder if they would still offer the same promootion if the review written wasn't in thier favor??

Hmmm. I wasn't aware of VAC when I tried Voice Buddy. I've downloaded it and will install it and give it a try, too. When I find the time I'll write a comparison review.

VAC uses the same M$ Speech engine as does Voice Buddy, so superficially it would seem that there ought to be little resource use difference.

Voice Buddy has dozens of pre-made game profiles, as I noted. It runs "out-of-the-box", so to speak, with IL2, IL2 FB, IL2 FB-AEP, and IL2 FB-AEP-PF. PF too, naturally. VAC requires you to create your own profile -- although that isn't necessarily a bad thing and perhaps the difference is not worth the $30.00 in price.

Too, it appears that some folks have already created profiles for VAC and posted them. That's a great contribution to the community and a good place for a new user to start.

I have no personal interest in ANY of the programs. I simply saw Voice Buddy's link, thought it was interesting, and gave it a try. At the time I was unaware of VAC. And I've since learned of a third program, "SHOOT". Apparently it's totally free (VAC is $10 shareware).

Competition is a good thing.
