Read this:

"Lt. Robert Hobbs of the 376th only narrowly escaped death when his P-51D €œLil€ Larry€, 44-13646, E9:W (formerly the mount of Lt. Robert W. Ward) crashed near Eau Brink during a test flight on 24 April 1945. While carrying out routine manoeuvres, the right wing broke off at the gun bay, causing a vicious snap roll which threw Hobbs out of the cockpit, still strapped in his seat. Mercifully, it fell away as he parachuted to safety. (Hobbs)"

Talk about LUCKY! Wonder if he'da been able to get out if it didn't throw him out?

I wonder what he did with his remaining years? I would like to think that if it were I, each day I would kiss the ground.

But I'd likely read a book. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

THe luck of some people is amazing! blown out of aircraft and waking up in parachutes that somehow had opened... etc. Think its wise to do like Caesar and worship the Goddess Fortune's @rse i think. Still, for every lucky chap there's the thousands who didn't make it after all...
